According to Acts 1:15-26, during the days after the Ascension Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers—about 120 of Jesus’ followers. Now that Judas had betrayed his ministry, it was necessary, Peter said, to fulfill the scriptural recommendation that another should take his office. “Therefore, it is necessary that one of the men who accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus came and went among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which he was taken up from us, become with us a witness to his resurrection” (Acts 1:21-22).

They nominated two men: Joseph Barsabbas and Matthias. They prayed and drew lots. The choice fell upon Matthias, who was added to the Eleven.

Matthias is not mentioned by name anywhere else in the New Testament.

𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲: O God, who assigned 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐀𝐒 a place in the college of Apostles, grant us, through his intercession, that, rejoicing at how your love has been allotted to us, we may merit to be numbered among the elect. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever, Amen.

Ngayong araw, ika-12 ng Mayo, ipinagdiriwang ang Dakilang Kapistahan ng Nuestra Señora de los Inocentes Martires y de los Desamparados de Manila - Coronada at ang kanyang ika -35 anibersaryo ng paggawad ng Koronasyong Kanonikal sa mahal na imahen.

Patuloy nating idalangin sa Mahal na Birhen na makamit natin ang kagalingan sa mga karamdamang pisikal at pang espiritwal. Nawa'y sa pamamagitan ng habag, grasya at pagkakandili ng Mahal na Birhen, patuloy nating tamasahin ang mga biyaya ng Panginoon at sa wakas ng ating paglalakbay dito sa mundo, masumpungan natin ang kaligtasan at kaluwalhatian sa langit.

FEAST OF SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA
Virgin and Doctor of the Church
Feastday: 29th of April

Saint Catherine of Siena is the 23rd child of hard-working parents. She was born in Siena, Italy in 1347. She showed early signs of unusual sanctity, joined the Third Order of Dominicans and became a spiritual guide to many. Catherine is known to have delivered many from diabolical possession, to have performed many miracles of healing, to have levitated frequently during prayer, and to have experienced the Mystical Espousal in which Our Lord, in a vision, gave her a golden ring, set with four precious stones around a superb diamond, which was visible only to her. Strengthened by Christ her spouse in frequent sweet conversation, she merited to become a sharer in His sufferings and wounds - the Stigmata.

She influenced public affairs and encouraged the pope to leave Avignon in 1377 and return to Rome. She dictated spiritual writings, died in 1380, and was declared Doctor of the Church in 1970.

Let us pray: O God, who set Saint Catherine of Siena on fire with divine love in her contemplation of the Lord’s Passion and her service or your Church, grant, through her intercession, that your people, participating in the mystery of Christ, may ever exult in the revelation of his glory. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

GOOD FRIDAY PROCESSION
Part 1 - The Apostles, Evangelists and Disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ

The Good Friday procession stands as the culmination of the community’s Holy Week observances. This year, a total of 70 images and tableaus participated, making it the longest procession within the Archdiocese of Manila.

Both new and long-venerated images—privately owned and those belonging to various kabaryo—graced the streets of Poblacion, accompanying the Santo Entierro in this solemn Procession of the Lord’s Burial.

Bringing the procession to its reverent close, the renowned Cu-Unjieng Crucifix was borne by representatives from the different church ministries and organizations, symbolizing the unity of the faithful in commemorating the Passion and death of Christ.

Namimighati at kalinis-linisang Birheng Maria, Ina ng Masintahing Anak na Lubhang tigib ng lumbay sa lahat ng Ina sa mundo, naninikluhod po ako sa mahal Mong harapan, Ina naming maawain at nagsusumamo sa Iyo ng buong pagpapakumbaba, na kung itong awa't kagalingang hinihingi ko ay magiging karangalan ng Panginoong Diyos at ikagagaling ko, ay idalangin Mo sa Kanyang kapangyarihan, na ipagkaloob sa akin at kung hindi ay ang Kanyang kasanto-santosang kalooban ang tutupdin ko at pasasalamatan, nang maging dapat akong magpuri sa pagka-Diyos Niyang walang hanggan. SAINT CHARBEL VISITS NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE SACRED HEART ❤️‍🔥

Yesterday, 16 April 2026, we are blessed to encounter the First Class Relic of St. Charbel as he visits the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in San Antonio, Makati City.

Saint Charbel Makhlouf (also known as St. Sharbel) was a Lebanese Maronite monk and priest, born as Youssef Antoun Makhlouf on May 8, 1828, in Bekaa Kafra, Lebanon.

From a young age, he showed deep devotion to prayer and a quiet, contemplative spirit. In 1851, he entered the monastery of Lebanese Maronite Order, taking the name “Charbel” after an early Christian martyr. He was ordained a priest in 1859 and later chose to live as a hermit, dedicating his life to silence, fasting, and constant prayer.

St. Charbel lived in great humility and hidden holiness until his death on December 24, 1898. After his passing, many reported miracles and extraordinary signs at his tomb, including a mysterious light and incorruptibility of his body.

Because of these miracles, devotion to him spread worldwide. He was canonized a saint by Pope Paul VI in 1977.
