For our first Artist in Residence, we introduce Sela Gonzales (), a photographer and jeweler.
For Sela, images and objects are avenues for self-discovery. In her constant meditation on memory, materiality, and the imprints of time, she expands into the inquiry of objects as vessels of remembrance, and light as a means of preservation.
Espacio will be Sela’s playground on March 21, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
She is inviting 20 photographers(practitioners or enthusiasts) to join her ongoing project, “What is the shape of memory?,” a collection of portraits and still life photographs.
In this continuation, Sela invites you to share your reflections on memory found in photographs and objects. Have your portrait taken and exchange stories of favorite shoots and trinkets. Show your favorite mementos thats been living in your purse, while you share a moment with tea, snacks with other like minded individuals.
