• Ang 3 hotdog ay katumbas ng 1 kaha ng sigarilyo.

• Nilalagyan ng nitrite ang mga processed food. Ang nitrite ang nagsisilbing preservative at food coloring. Ito ay nagiging nitrosamine, yun ang nagiging carcinogenic kapag pumasok sa katawan.

• May artifical food colors at preservatives na hindi carcinogenic. Ang tawag dito ay red 1, puwedeng gamitin.

• Ang ilang hotdog sa US ay gawa sa balat, bituka at buto ng karneng dinurog, maraming puwedeng ihalo. Hindi naman talaga karne. Hindi naman sa delikado pero depende. Kung atay ang inihalo at ang hayop ay na-expose sa arsenic, carcinogenic yun.

• Branded man o hindi, tine-test naman ang mga ito ng BFAD pero hindi ibig sabihin ay ligtas na.

• Kapag sinabing homemade, dapat organic, walang pampaganda ng kulay, walang food coloring, walang preservatives.

• Payo ni Dok Earle: Hangga't maaari, iwasan ang processed foods pero sa bilis ng takbo ng buhay, parang imposibleng gawin. Minimize na lang ang pagpapakain lalo na sa mga bata.
