This section of Kafka was really about everyone looking at you. Judging you. Finding you incomplete. What would you do? Kafka explored this but we leave you to answer it.

We all know this feeling. .
From .co’s Dreams Come True: Ipis/Kafka. “Ipis/Kafka features the company in a work inspired by Franz Kafka’s ‘The Metamorposis.’ We question what it means to exist in a world where one has to live up to expectations from society and one’s personal world.” Direction by

They really don’t make things like they used to. Cars, buildings, clothes, bags, shoes - I’ve noticed my appreciation for traditional, quality craftsmanship eclipsing my previous pursuits of the “freshest trends and innovations” over the past few years. There’s just something about discovering vintage or old items and seeing how beautiful they still are today, or the fact that they still exist. In the reflection of the car you can see the Regina Building, a building full of Manila’s richest stories in its heyday as the Pearl of the Orient.

Exquisite.

Sad to say we couldn’t fully appreciate our visit to the Vatican Museum this time because of the crowds. Back in 2015, I had the chance to do a night visit of the museum and it was almost eerily quiet and empty. There’s something about the silence that amplified the art’s commanding presence in the halls - the way it was initially experienced. How different the artwork of the Renaissance period could have been had it not had the patronage of the Catholic church?

The act of mentally painting in the blanks between what’s left of the Roman Forum was a physical reminder that what’s standing right before me can still only be a fraction of the truth.

I didn’t give this church a second look when pushing through the busy crowds in the daytime, but its domineering presence before daybreak quite literally stopped me in my tracks. Wikipedia tells me the Servite Order of this church also stopped a cholera epidemic in its tracks, so that’s pretty cool too. Cheers to public health architectural memorials to integral societal events!
