Thats why I didn't raise too much of our rates. I want my clients to have 101% quality of their pawtoshoot and TO HAVE FUN as well.
Sadly, some in our industry just want to make money.π₯²
Having said that, thank you Judge Judy Lim Hazel Iris Lim for the reco! This made my heart happy and had me motivate again to do some shoots!!!π₯° Tara na ulit!
WARNING: LONG RANT. TL;DR below.
Never again will I go back to Great Image Philippines for a photoshoot for my dogs.
Not that their staff isn't nice. Not that their picture quality isn't great. On the contrary, the staff was nice and the picture quality was great. What disappointed me were their packages and terms.
I went to Great Image Lucky Chinatown Mall to get a photoshoot for my 5 dogs last Monday. I called them up to book a slot and asked what packages they have. The lady I talked to booked us and told me to just come by to personally see the packages they offer.
When I got to Great Image, I asked again what packages they have. I specifically said that I was only actually interested in soft copies and asked what they have. Admittedly, this was my mistake for not insisting on picking a package before the shoot. But it is also their mistake for not explaining to me beforehand that they don't actually offer that kind of service (i.e. only soft copy files). The lady only said that I can just choose after the shoot.
I told the photographer that I wanted a white background for the pups. Apparently they don't have a white backdrop. Their white backdrop is only the wall which is actually a door and needs editing to make it a plain white backdrop. I was not informed that a backdrop would make colors pop more, reflect the light better etc. I only found out after the shoot because Jury and Judy had shots that had a backdrop and the raw quality was very nice. Also only after the shoot did I find out that I had to pay P3,000 on top of a package to get the raw files. P6,000 being the cheapest of the packages.
Okay, sure. That's their package. But the quality of the shots that were without a backdrop were not worth the 9k that I paid. The pictures without a backdrop looked like pictures I take - unprofessional, some were even blurry. Unfortunately, it was already closing time so I couldn't say anything. I couldn't sleep that night cause I spent 9k for pictures that I could have taken myself.
I called them up the next days until finally I was able to talk to their branch manager 3 days later. I believe this is the same lady I talked to earlier. She told me that I could just have another photoshoot for 380 per dog and then she would just give me the raw files. So I agreed to pay another 1,900 just to get them shots with a backdrop.
I went back assuming that they already know what we agreed on. We had a nice photo session. Solo shots with a gray backdrop. The pictures were perfect as expected.
When I was about to pay, I asked the lady there if she knew what the manager and I agreed on. She asked, I said it was 380 each dog plus all the raw files. Dun dun dun. She said there's no such package. She even asked I guess it was another branch manager if that was possible and he also said that there's no such package. The only 380 package is you choose one picture that they will print and they will send you the soft copy. I insisted that that's what the lady told me that's why I agreed to come back. If you have dogs, you probably know how difficult it is to choose just one photo of your dog.
In the end, I was given a choice to purchase ANOTHER package worth 3,950 AND add 1,999 on top of that just to get the raw files.
Since I was going to pay for another package, I asked if I can add a group shot and he said no, I cannot. That it will be counted as another session because it would be like taking advantage of an unlimited photo session. I understand that but I was duped into thinking that I was going to get the raw files by paying only 380 per dog. Since I was getting a NEW package and paying for all the raw files without knowing until AFTER the session, I wish they compensated me at least for the miscommunication. But no. I don't know if I sound entitled for wanting a small compensation of getting a group shot, but I just feel so cheated.
TL;DR: I was promised only 380 + raw files and ended up having to pay another 5,949 just to get the raw files and was not compensated whatsoever for the misunderstanding.
So never again will I go back to Great Image. For those of you with multiple dogs and have a hard time choosing pictures of your dogs, there are so many other cheaper, same or better quality photographers out there like PawPrints.Ph Pet Photography, JCBpawtos. Learn from me. Don't get shots from Great Image.
