PLM Propaganda

PLM Propaganda PLM PROPAGANDA is the premiere LGBTQIA+ organization in PLM.

It is a university-wide, non-academic community that aims to create safe spaces in and outside the walls of the university while advocating for gender equality. This is our first move, as LGBT people in PLM, in order for us to be admitted as normal people in our society. We are empowering the strength of nowadays LGBT to say no to discrimination among us and of course to stay us away from being vi

ctims of hate crime. Hope you guys appreciate our principles and works and do support our steps in making change between you and Us (LGBT) in this society :)

Last July 1, 2026, PLM Propaganda's outgoing and incoming officers formally conducted their official turnover. As the outgoing LLPs entrusted their positions to the new executive board, the organization expressed its deepest gratitude to them for their dedication to fighting for organization's advocacy, fostering inclusivity, and maintaining a safe space for both the organization and the students.

During the meeting, the outgoing LLPs shared words of wisdom and valuable advice with the new set of officers. The discussion focused on two primary agendas: revising the General Plan of Action (GPOA) and updating the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR). These changes aim to ensure more efficient event management, paving the way for a proactive and productive series of activities that advocate for the betterment of the community.

For the upcoming academic year, the organization wishes the new LLPs the best as they lead the charge, amplify their advocacy, and spread inclusivity across the university. The future looks bright for the cultivation of growth and the preservation of a safe space within our beloved institution.

Last June 27, PLM Propaganda witnessed the long-awaited return of ๐–๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ฅ๐š at the World Trade Center, marking its comeback after 12 years. More than a celebration, White Party became a powerful reminder that Pride is about ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐  up, ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  together, and ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  one another.

The night carried a purpose beyond the music and performances. A total of โ‚ฑ๐Ÿ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง was turned over to ๐‹๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐œ., helping strengthen community-led HIV awareness, free and confidential testing, treatment programs, and sexual health education for Filipinos.

Pride has always been more than colors and festivities. It is found in every ๐ฌ๐š๐Ÿ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ž we create, every ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ we amplify, and every ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง we take to ensure that no one is left behind.

As Pride Month comes to a close, may we remember that our commitment to the community does not end when the lights go out or when June ends. Pride is not measured by how loudly we celebrate, but by how fiercely we ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ, ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ญ, and ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ with one another every single day.

Here are some of our favorite moments from a night that reminded us that the brightest celebrations leave behind something even greater:

On the night of June 30, the last day of Pride Month, PLM Supreme Student Council President, Ms. Jahna Par, reached out to PLM Propagandaโ€™s Supremo, Mr. Tristan Ramirez, about an alleged issue of requiring the trans* and non-binary athletes of PLM Menโ€™s Volleyball Team to have their hair cutโ€”a standard men's โ€œclean cutโ€ or โ€œboy cut.โ€

PLM Propaganda condemns this kind of powerplay between a Coach of a team and their players. This is a homophobia masked in the guise of uplifting โ€œdisciplineโ€ among the team. Thereโ€™s a difference between behavior and/or discipline of a player with their gender expression. In fact, several players in various sports had been excelling in their fields regardless of the length of their hairs such as Barbie San Andres from Menโ€™s Volleyball Team of Mapua University. Hence, associating a player's haircuts, particularly on how they express themselves through hair, with a playerโ€™s commitment, discipline, and skills is nonsensical. As a result, according to the reports received by the PLM SSC, players have mentioned lack of enthusiasm in playing, even attending the training, due to the remark allegedly delivered by the teamโ€™s Coach.

Based on the timeline of events, this had happened during Pride Month. A month where the LGBTQIA+ community celebrates their existence and amplifies their calls. This incident proves that the society in general is yet to be accepting and progressive; thus, our fight as an advocate of inclusivity and equality remains steadfast.

Furthermore, the PLM has an existing Pamantasan Administrative Order No. 21-ACA s. 2022; wherein, since its implementation, the university upholds acceptance with differing gender expression as long as it does not violate specified provisions in the Student Manual and the order itselfโ€”which includes a studentโ€™s haircut. Apart from that, this is a clear violation of the City of Manila Ordinance 8695 or the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance of Manila, as it limits, if not denying, the players the benefit of playing and/or training for PLM Menโ€™s Volleyball Team due to their gender expression.

We, the PLM Propaganda, stand in solidarity with the talented, skilled, and committed players of PLM Menโ€™s Volleyball Team. Haircut is not a measurement of an athlete's discipline and capabilities. We call on the attention of the PLM Sports Director and any concerned offices to look into this incident, and act accordingly. This requirement does not train the athletes to be disciplined, but it puts them in a regressive space.

As the organization campaign goes, ๐Œ๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ๐š ๐ค๐š๐ฉ๐š๐  ๐Š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ฅ๐š. Give the Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming athletes the opportunity to further their skills in sports without compromising their gender expression.

Watch the solidarity speech delivered by Supremo Tristan Ramirez in Sunken Garden Stage or the Kabataan, Kalusugan, at Kabaklaan (K*K) Stage. In 4 years of Love Laban, this is the first time the organization was able to deliver their call to action and statement of support towards the community. An opportunity we, the PLM Propaganda, would forever be grateful for. ๐Ÿ’—

Mr. Ramirez focused on the current strive of the organization together with the PLM Supreme Student Council on recognition of lived names for the Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming students during the graduation ceremonies. Bigyan natin sila ng karapatan na makilala sa aking lived names and rightful honorifics,โ€ he said during the speech. He also mentioned that despite our differences in various aspects such as politics and religion, the community must stand together towards a common goalโ€”a safe and inclusive society for all. ๐ŸŒˆ

Pride is not just a celebration; it is a protest. The fight of the LGBTQIA+ community does not end during Pride Month as oppression and discrimination persist all throughout the year. PLM Propaganda firmly supports the community, its advocates, its allies, and everyone in between. โœจ
