Before this month ends, we mark the 8th year of the Marawi Siege with something deeply personal.

Today, we officially launch our music video “Sarado (Sagumba).”

This song was written nearly two decades ago — never did we imagine it would speak louder today.

We are KM Zero from Marawi City, and we dedicate this piece to the true heroes of Marawi:
To those who sacrificed their lives to liberate our beloved city,
To the victims who lost their homes, their loved ones, and a part of themselves in the war,
And to everyone whose lives were forever changed.

"Kilometro Zero reaffirms it's solidarity with the people of Marawi in the contemplative remembrance of the city's siege on the 23rd of May 2017.

The song SARADO, and it's soon to be released music film, are humbly offered as thinkpieces that seek to help bare and examine the depth and breadth of what it really means to call Marawi one's home and what it truly takes to defend it from both internal and external violators.

The music and visual storytelling is a tribute to the beauty of the land and how it continues to withstand human tragedy; and the formidable yet elegant power of nature to reclaim what humans take for granted—a reminder to its people that stewardship must be earned earnestly, and ceaselessly.

Sarado is both a requiem for all that has been destroyed and a redemptive anthem that seeks to call on those who are willing and able to protect what remains, those who are ready to truly hold Marawi in their safekeeping—those who will recognize with their hearts and souls the resounding clarion call: SAGUMBA!!!!!!!!!"
