JOINT PNP UNIT EXECUTES OPERATION VS TOP 1 MOST WANTED IN CENTRAL LUZON
The Philippine National Police reports the successful implementation of a joint law enforcement operation that resulted in the death of a Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Station 5, Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), following a shooting incident in Barangay Salcedo, San Manuel, Tarlac on May 13, 2026.
The operation was carried out by personnel of Police Station 5, ACPO, in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit, as part of the intensified campaign against wanted persons and individuals involved in violent offenses.
Based on records, the suspect, a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga, was facing warrants of arrest for Homicide and Slight Physical Injury issued by the Regional Trial Court in Angeles City. He was also identified as the primary suspect in a previous shooting incident involving an intelligence operative of the ACPO.
Reports show that during the service of the warrants, the suspect allegedly detected the presence of law enforcement personnel and attempted to evade arrest by fleeing the area and jumping beneath a bridge. When approached by operating personnel, the suspect allegedly fired toward the team, prompting the operating units to respond.
The suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was immediately brought to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead by the attending physician. The incident is subject to standard investigation and documentation procedures.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for their professionalism and restraint under pressure.
“Palagi naming ipinaaalala sa aming mga tauhan na sundin at igalang ang batas sa bawat operasyon. Ngunit kung mapipilitan, they are also trained to respond decisively to protect lives, including their own. Mananatili po ang aming paninindigan: walang ligtas sa mga patuloy na umiiwas sa batas,” he said.
The PNP assures the public that all police operations remain guided by legality, accountability, and respect for human rights. “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman” continues to guide the organization’s efforts in delivering safer communities across the country.
