Pujada Bay is located in Mati City, Davao Oriental, covers 21,000 hectares and 10 Barangays and recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world in 2020 and biologically rich bays in the Philippines. Known for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and diverse marine life and natural resources. It supports the livelihood of many local communities through fishing and tourism. However, this natural treasure is now facing serious environmental challenges.
Improper waste disposal, plastic pollution, coastal development, and destructive fishing practices are gradually degrading the bay’s ecosystem. These threats not only endanger marine species but also affect the health, economy, and future of the people who depend on the bay.
This presentation aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting Pujada, Mayo and Balete bays. It highlights the role of individuals, communities, and local authorities in promoting sustainable practices such as proper waste management, conservation efforts, and responsible tourism.
By working together, we can preserve the beauty and biodiversity of Pujada Bay for future generations. Protecting our environment is not just a responsibility; it is a commitment to life itself.
