⚠️ DANGER WARNING TO ALL SEAFARERS IN JAPAN, NEAR JAPAN, AND NORTH OF JAPAN ⚠️
Issued: July 30, 2025 | Status: URGENT

All seafarers currently navigating in Japanese waters, near the coasts of Japan, or north of Japan are hereby warned of imminent danger due to the massive magnitude 8.8 earthquake that struck off the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. The quake has triggered tsunami alerts and advisories across the Pacific region, including serious warnings for Japan’s eastern seaboard.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami advisory for coastal areas from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Dangerous waves of up to 1 meter or more are expected to impact Japan’s northeastern and eastern coastlines, including the regions of Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kanto, and may wrap around to affect southern areas as well.

Closely monitor NAVTEX, SafetyNET, INMARSAT, and VHF Channel 16 for real-time updates and instructions from maritime and port authorities.

Maritime operations in ports across Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, Chiba, and other Pacific-facing prefectures may be suspended or disrupted.

ALL SEAFARERS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND PRIORITIZE SAFETY ABOVE ALL ELSE.
