๐™‰๐™€๐™’๐™Ž | TNHS Joins National Learning Camp

Taclobo National High School (TNHS) proudly embraces the National Learning Camp (NLC), a program initiated by the Department of Education to bolster the MATATAG agenda and address learning gaps that emerged during the 2-year Distance Education modalities brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The NLC is a strategic initiative with a focused approach, concentrating on three core subjects - English, Science, and Math. Comprising three camps, namely the Intervention Camp, Consolidation Camp, and Enhancement Camp, this program aims to provide targeted support to students in these critical areas.

To ensure the success of this endeavor, the Dumaguete Division conducted a 3-day Capacity Building event at the Southview Hotel on August 18, 19, and 20. During this event, teachers from various learning clusters gathered to gain a comprehensive understanding of the NLC's objectives and teaching-learning resources.

At Taclobo National High School, a dedicated group of educators took on the role of camp advisers, driving the NLC's success. Leading the charge as the NLC Coordinator and Grade 8 English teacher is Mr. Gem Karl Bangay, while Mrs. Michelle Tabilon expertly guides Grade 8 Math. Mrs. Marivic Ong lends her expertise to Grade 8 Science. For Grade 7 English, Mr. Johnrey Lazaga and Ms. Dannica Loraine Tumanda deliver inspiring guidance. Additionally, Mrs. Blessilda Esterioso and Mrs. Anna Grace Managbanag contribute their talents to Grade 7 Science and Math, respectively.

The NLC commenced on July 24 and will continue its transformative journey until August 25. Through this program, TNHS aims to empower its studentsโ€™ basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills, enhance their understanding of core subjects, and create an enriched and inclusive learning environment.

As the school community eagerly participates in the National Learning Camp, they stand united in their commitment to providing a a fun-filled learning experience that prepares students for a bright and promising future.

In the ever-evolving landscape of education, the appointment of visionary leaders becomes paramount to shaping the future of learning institutions. At Taclobo National High School, a dynamic and accomplished young leader is set to take the reins, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for transformative education. Meet Claudio Sun Jr, Ed. D., the newly appointed Principal whose journey is marked by dedication, achievement, and a commitment to excellence.

Dr. Claudio Sun Jr. earned his Doctor of Education degree from Saint Paul University Dumaguete, solidifying his expertise in educational leadership and administration. However, his journey in the world of academia started long before, as he obtained his bachelor's degree from the prestigious Silliman University.

His teaching journey began as a classroom teacher, where he honed his skills in nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. Driven by a desire to make a broader impact, he assumed the role of Teacher-in-charge at Piapi High School after just three years in the classroom. It was during this pivotal phase that his capabilities shone, particularly when he served as the MOOE Coordinator. Tasked with the meticulous liquidation of MOOE funds, Dr. Sun showcased his organizational prowess and financial acumen, garnering recognition and trust from his peers.

Dedication and hard work propelled Dr. Claudio Sun Jr. to greater heights. In less than a decade of service, he achieved the esteemed rank of Principal 1, a distinction that only a select few educators attain. As he swiftly climbed the ranks, his exemplary leadership style and innovative ideas garnered admiration from colleagues and superiors alike.

Recently, his exceptional leadership qualities were recognized once more when he successfully passed the Career Executive Service Written Examination. This significant achievement serves as a testament to his administrative acumen and paves the way for even greater responsibilities in the future.

As he assumes the role of Principal at Taclobo National High School, Dr. Claudio Sun Jr. brings with him a clear vision for the school's future. A firm believer in student-centered education, he aims to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where each student can thrive and realize their full potential.

Under his guidance, Taclobo National High School is poised to embrace a new era of growth and transformation. With his extensive experience, exceptional qualifications, and unwavering dedication, Dr. Claudio Sun Jr. is undoubtedly the dynamic young Principal that the school community can look up to with great enthusiasm and optimism.

Dr. Sun speaks with all sincerity, "I can proudly say that I have done my part, and I can look straight into his eyes, knowing that I have followed your teachings." As he embarks on this new journey, Dr. Sun stands firm in his commitment to lead with integrity, inspire with passion, and empower every student and educator at Taclobo National High School to soar to greater heights.
