Why AI is a Virtual Assistantโs Best Ally
As a Virtual Assistant, I often come across tasks that are completely new to me. I believe integrity is essential in this role, so I'm always upfront with the people I work with. If I haven't done a task before or Iโm not confident in it yet, Iโll let them know honestly.
Iโm very grateful that the clients I work with are kind and open-minded, giving me space to learn and grow. Whenever Iโm unsure about something, I turn to AI toolsโand honestly, theyโve become a huge help in my day-to-day work. In fact, I think learning how to work with AI is a valuable skill every VA should develop.
Here are a few ways I use AI tools in my work:
- DeepSeek for lead generation
- Copilot when I'm working on unfamiliar tasks. I love how it gives clear answers along with links to sources. It even suggests follow-up questions, which I find super helpful. I also use it for generating images
- ChatGPT for a wide range of tasks, especially content creation, keyword research, and brainstorming. It's like having a creative partner on hand all the time!
For example, I once had to add a table to a WordPress site using Elementor, but the plugin didnโt have the widget I needed. I turned to ChatGPT, and it provided the HTML code I could insert directly. I'm not a coding expert at all, but with this kind of support, I was able to solve the problem and move forward.
I know some people are hesitant about AI because of fears it might replace certain jobs. But thereโs a quote I saw on DeepSeek that stuck with me:
"AI wonโt replace VAs, but VAs who use AI will replace those who donโt."
I truly believe that. And even if AI changes how we work in the future, I trust that weโll adaptโbecause humans are resilient and creative. Thatโs what makes this journey exciting.
How are you using AI in your work right nowโor are you just starting to explore it?
