Centering a subject is usually a bold choice, but here it works to highlight solitude. By placing the tree in the dead center of the path, it forces the viewer to confront its presence. It isn’t just a background element; it is a survivor that has claimed its space, standing defiant and bright against the darkness.

It’s the kind of shot that reminds you that sometimes the most powerful stories are found in the most "misplaced" places.

This portrait captures Ms. Gems, a true Harley-Davidson enthusiast whose passion for riding shines through every frame. Shooting outdoors is always an adventure. Unpredictable light, shifting colors, and the challenge of finding the perfect spot. We scouted locations, and though this was our second choice, it turned out to be just right.

The sun was slipping away, and we were chasing the light. Every click demanded attention, as the tones and atmosphere kept changing moment by moment. But that’s the magic of outdoor photography—it keeps you on your toes and rewards you with authenticity.

Through it all, Ms. Gems was game, embracing the spontaneity and energy of the shoot. Her spirit made the session not just a photoshoot, but an experience. A big thank you to Ms. Gems for bringing this vision to life.

As a photographer and storyteller, I'm observing moments beyond the spotlight. During Piolo Pascual’s number, you see how people still adore him—rushing forward just to catch a glimpse or a photo. I asked myself, what could be the reason? Perhaps it’s his humility and grace. His attitude continues to inspire admiration across generations, proving that character is the true foundation of lasting success.

We had a fantastic session with Avery, playing with the contrast between the bold, structured ruffles of the teal dress and the delicate, airy softness of the baby’s breath. The result? Pure elegance. Avery brought such a soft, effortless energy to the frame that made every click a winner.

Behind the Lens at BDO Awards Night

Our team recently covered a nationwide awards night for BDO with Outbound Asia. Big productions bring big challenges, and here are some insights we’d like to share with fellow photographers:

Smoke & Fog Effects
Stage smoke is beyond our control and can greatly affect image quality. Avoid using flash—light scatters in smoke and loses impact. Instead, use the smoke creatively: it enhances light rays and gives that dramatic “live concert” look. Timing is the key, and move closer to your subject.

Limited Shooting Angles
To avoid distracting guests, our shooters often stay in fixed positions. Again, The key is timing—wait for performers to step into areas with better lighting and less smoke before pressing the shutter.

Color & Lighting
Concert-style productions rarely have a single white balance. Expect multi-colored lighting displays and embrace them as part of the event’s energy. For this shoot, I set my white balance to 5000K to balance the tones.

Despite these challenges, our CBC Team captured the energy and celebration of the night beautifully. Thank you BDO & Outbound Asia.

The sunlight was just right, but I added a strobe to balance the natural glow and bring out more detail in my subject. The mix of flash and golden light created a beautifully enhanced portrait. I’d love to return here and capture more outdoor shots.

How about you—what’s your go-to style for outdoor portraits? Share your photos with us, we’d love to see your creativity!

This portrait was captured around 5PM beneath the shade of bamboo, using a flash carefully balanced with the natural sunlight. Notice how the golden rays filter through the bamboo, adding warmth and depth to the scene. The subject’s graceful pose perfectly complements the serene setting, bringing out the beauty of the moment. Special thanks to Pat for making this shot come alive.

It was an honor to capture Louie's powerful message for Filinvest Alabang Inc.'s sales team! "Champions aren't just defined by wins or losses..." His words resonate deep. Grateful for the opportunity to bring this story to life through our lens.

A timeless outdoor portrait that blends natural light with architectural elegance. Professional portrait photography isn’t just about capturing a face—it’s about telling a story through setting, style, and composition.

The Holy Spouses Mary and Joseph Chapel in Talisay, Batangas is a small, peaceful chapel inside Club Balai Isabel. It’s known for its cozy, rustic look and is a popular spot for weddings and photos. The altar is special because it was carved from a single stone taken from the ruins of an old church that once stood in the area. The chapel was blessed in 2010, and today it’s loved for its quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, making it a nice place to pray, visit, or hold intimate ceremonies. These photos were taken with an infrared camera.
