This segment of our Icons in Focus series spotlights our resident studio assistants as they step into the role of concept-makers, reinterpreting legendary influences through their own creative lens, in collaboration with .

Closing this chapter, we highlight the final feature from our studio assistants—and the winning team—led by Jhon Regidor (), who drew inspiration from Gino Gonzales and Szilvester Mako—blending Gino’s versatility in producing unconventional results with Szilvester’s storybook-like imagery, which inspired the use of a “box” as a visual motif to frame narratives within each image.

For his concept titled Sabungera, Jhon presents a story rooted in personal experience, drawing inspiration from his mother, a real-life sabungera. The project centers on a woman stepping into the male-dominated world of sabong, symbolizing the breaking of social constraints. It portrays a woman embodying strength, resilience, and empowerment.

In this feature, we turn the spotlight to one of our studio assistants, Jayar Valdez (), who drew inspiration from Vadym Yatsun—particularly his sculptural lighting, refined color transitions, and distinct balance between surreal elements and contemporary minimalism, which Jayar aimed to reflect in his own visual approach.

For his concept titled Alaala, Jayar builds a narrative rooted in memory and nostalgia, drawing from beloved Filipino childhood games to explore how these moments continue to shape us, inviting viewers to reconnect with the simple joys of growing up and the experiences that stay with us over time.

This segment of our Icons in Focus series spotlights our resident studio assistants as they step into the role of concept-makers, reinterpreting legendary influences through their own creative lens, in collaboration with .

We now turn the spotlight to one of our studio assistants, Kevin Reyes (), who drew inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci. Captivated by the intentionality and almost staged quality of his works, Kevin approached this shoot as more than just photography, treating each frame like a painting, where every element was thoughtfully composed to bring each scene to life.

For his concept titled Sa Ibabaw, Tunga, ug Ilawom, Kevin reimagines the idea of gods and goddesses through a distinctly Filipino lens. Rooted in Visayan mythology, the concept draws from the story of Kaptan and Magwayen—figures that represent different realms of the world. Through this, the shoot invites viewers to experience these timeless narratives in a way that feels both culturally grounded and visually reinterpreted.
