Tummy time and Sitter stage: What’s really beautiful is how fast everything changes during this stage.
One week they’re still struggling to lift their head properly… then suddenly they’re pushing up stronger, looking around longer, reacting faster. Then before you even realize it, they’re already sitting with more balance, grabbing things with intention, and turning toward voices like they fully understand what’s happening.
It feels small day to day, but big when you look back.
This is also the stage where babies start to:
* discover their own voice (and use it a lot 😄)
* react differently to familiar vs. unfamiliar people
* show preference—favorite voices, favorite faces, favorite toys
* and even “initiate” interaction by looking, smiling, or vocalizing first
So yes, it really becomes a two-way experience. Not just parents entertaining the baby—but the baby actively responding back, in their own tiny way.
And that’s why many parents find themselves pausing during this stage more than usual. You end up just watching them—because even the smallest things feel new. A tiny giggle, a focused stare, a determined attempt to reach something… everything feels like a moment worth remembering.
It’s a short season, but it’s full of firsts. And once it passes, you only realize later how much personality was already there, quietly unfolding in coos, wiggles, and those very “madaldal” baby sounds.
