Breaking the Binary

In a world full of unfair perceptions and stereotypes, imagine a community where equality truly thrives—where opportunities are not determined by one’s gender but by one’s capabilities, and where the youth are united, disregarding the belief instilled by society that there is a hierarchy between different genders. This photo serves as the epitome of that. It shows students united—engaging in activities, laughing together, and spending time with one another—each student possessing a healthy mindset free from discrimination.

Students play a vital role in promoting gender equality by educating themselves and others about gender issues, showing respect and fairness through their words and actions, and, overall, being role models to others. These simple yet impactful efforts can inspire not only their peers but also their educators and elders.

Through awareness and collaboration, students can nurture and create a community where equality is not just an idea but a lived reality—where everyone, regardless of gender, is valued and given equal rights, opportunities, and respect.

The Heart of a Champion

After winning the championship, Alexa, the only girl on her basketball team, is lifted and celebrated by her teammates in their pink unicorns intrams jersey. Laughter and pride fill the air, a reminder that success knows no gender.

This moment challenges the idea that “boys play basketball, girls cheer from the sidelines.” Alexa proves that passion, effort, and heart matter more than gender or height. Her bond with her team shows that true victory is not just a trophy; it’s breaking barriers, supporting each other, and creating a space where everyone belongs.

Last December 17, 2024, our community came together at the historic Taal Basilica for a meaningful and uplifting Mass. It was a day filled with prayer, reflection, and a renewed sense of togetherness as we prepare our hearts for the coming Christmas season.
