Nestled within the scenic landscape of Sampaloc Lake—the largest and most prominent volcanic crater lake in San Pablo, Laguna—runners were treated to a course surrounded by calm waters, lush greenery, and the enduring beauty of nature. Formed by ancient volcanic activity, the lake provided a breathtaking backdrop for a race that would test both physical endurance and mental resilience.
At the Sampaloc Lake Backyard Ultra, there can only be one who remains—the last person standing.
Veterans, challengers, and first-time participants alike answered the call. They stepped onto the starting line filled with anticipation, excitement, and determination. For some, there were butterflies in their stomachs; for others, confidence built through years of experience. Yet everyone shared the same purpose: to embrace the challenge and discover how far they could go.
As they circumnavigated the lake, the journey became more than just a race. With every loop, runners immersed themselves in the beauty of their surroundings while confronting their own limits. The mind urged them to push harder, to take one more step and then another. Every heartbeat synchronized with every stride.
