The festivities included a Fun Run, exhibits, employee recognition, sportsfest, Palarong Pinoy, and culminated in the coronation of Ginoo at Binibining Silangan 2025—bringing together fun, appreciation, and camaraderie.

The Department of Trade and Industry held the Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs and Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners at the Heroes Hall, Malacanang Palace in Manila. The Guest of Honor and speaker, the Honorable (then) Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, presented the awards to the year’s winners, together with DTI Secretary and MSMEDC Chair Cris Roque and GoNegosyo Founder and MSMEDC Vice-Chair Joey Concepcion.

BUMS is honored to have been part of the event, partnering with the DTI’s Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED), in managing the event’s requirements, helping facilitate the process from the acceptance of nominations, to screening, up until the actual awarding.

They highlighted the facilities and equipment they now enjoy, increasing productivity and convenience for the local corn farmers.

The ladies of the cooperative relayed the advantages of being part of the cluster, the relative ease with which they gained access to technology and training, and particularly how their lives have been changed through this program.

The Mts. Iglit-Baco Natural Park in Occidental Mindoro is home to the critically endangered Tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis). Due to rural development and habitat degradation, their numbers have dwindled to the hundreds and the urgency to protect and conserve this species has been of utmost priority.

The BUMS Team together with the staff of the PA Management Office, trekked towards the core habitat zone of the Protected Area to catch a glimpse of the elusive Tamaraws, and discuss with its stakeholders the efforts being done to ensure its survival and promote its population growth.
