Jhun Bogz AstroCamp

Jhun Bogz AstroCamp Starry skies. A quiet camp. The kind of adventures that sneak up and leave you breathless. It’s the spark. Where silence deepens, and everything truly begins.

While the world sleeps, I chase galaxies—because for me, nightfall isn’t the end.

Lunar Eclipse 2026 Camp: It kicked off with a cosmic comedy or error: 15mins when event started my power station suddenly shut off, and my Nikon + Tamron Lens duo collapse with dead battery. Just when it seemed the cosmos would slip away, my trusty Redcat 51 Telescope + ASI533mc camera swooped in ready to capture the Moon’s grand performance. Managed to get everything rolling just before totality, and the show went on. These images of Lunar Exlipse are drawn from the Eclipse video…

NGC 3372 - The Carina Nebula or Eta Carinae Nebula
,
- is a large, complex area of bright and dark nebulosity in the constellation Carina, and it is located in the Carina–Sagittarius Arm. The nebula is approximately 8,500 light-years (2,600 pc) from Earth.
The nebula is one of the largest diffuse nebulae in our skies. Although it is four times as large as and even brighter than the famous Orion Nebula, the Carina Nebula is much less well known due to its location in the southern sky. It was discovered by Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille in 1752 from the Cape of Good Hope.

NGC 2659: A Young Cluster in Vela ✨
Nestled in the constellation Vela, NGC 2659 is a dazzling open star cluster about 5,500 light years away. At only 7.8 million years old, it’s a cosmic nursery brimming with hot, massive stars—some spinning so fast they glow with emission lines, known as Be stars.

The Heart Nebula - IC 1805, glowing in cosmic crimson — a reminder that even the universe speaks the language of love. This Valentine’s Day, may your heart shine as bright as the stars and burn as passionately as the nebulae across the night sky. ✨

Six hours from Manila, through the scenic roads of Mountain Province, lies Lake Tabayo—one of the highest and coldest places in the Philippines. Located in Kabayan, Benguet at 2,206 meters above sea level, it sits near the foot of Mount Pulag. During the Amihan season, temperatures can plunge to 1°C in the early morning, making camping here a true test of cold and calm.

ASTROPHOTOGRAPHER

I'm an IT by profession specialized in Network and/or connectivity. I started Astrophotography early 2018 so that's about three years ago. My hobby started with a clip on lens on my iPhone the moon as my first subject. But before that I am already fascinated with Galaxies and Nebula and their mysteries and beauty. Initially, I thought only the NASA Hubble telescope can take pictures of it and we can only limit ourselves to taking pictures of moon alone. However, I come across of a picture of Orion Nebula using only a DSLR camera attached to Celestron travel 70 telescope. With further research, I found out that DSLR Cameras are also capable of taking picture of the Milkyway Galaxy. My first telescope is Celestron 70, but i seldom using it, since I'm more focused and Interested in Deep Space Object (DSO) Photography.
