Jhalak//Synopsis
Roshni begins her morning by defying societal norms, confidently commuting to her university on a scooter. However, she notices a mysterious taxi driver following her, increasing her anxiety throughout the day. Her concerns are dismissed by her friend Aliya, who subtly criticizes Roshni's independent choices, reflecting the societal pressure women face.
In the evening, as Roshni confronts harassment by a group of boys outside her university, the same taxi driver intervenes, scaring them away. To her shock, the driver is revealed to be Zaid Chacha, her elderly neighbor. Zaid confesses that after the tragic loss of his daughter, Saba, who was assaulted and killed while traveling on unsafe streets, he has taken it upon himself to discreetly protect Roshni.
The film ends on a poignant note, with both Roshni and Zaid reflecting on their respective roles in navigating safety and trust in a harsh society. Roshni realizes that Zaid's watchful presence, though unsettling, has shielded her from potential harm, while Zaid mourns the loss of his daughter and laments the need for such vigilant measures.
