I haven’t posted in a long time, there just wasn’t any motivation to post. But some friends pushed me to start posting again so here we go.

never disappoints. It’s always a great experience dining in there. Nobody does chicken better than them.

We ordered a boneless meal that comes with 4 sides. Fries were on point. But what pleasantly surprised me was the hummus that after adding peri peri chilli oil was a bomb.

is one talented chef who’s highly underrated for the food she makes. Probably because she serves a niche who’s looking for authentic Burmese food. She was kind enough to get in touch and asked me if I would like to sample her food. I insisted on paying at least for one dish but she said it’s for sampling and she’s only looking for feedback. I was never asked to post a review or share it on social media. But this food deserves all the glowing reviews.

I had heard a lot about her rice paper rolls from a few friends and after trying them I can understand all the praise. The filling was generous and the sauce gave it the extra kick. Perfect snacks for this heat.

Chazaan is primarily a noodle dish made with rice noodles and chicken/beef and coconut curry. A hearty bowl of noodles , chicken and condiments. I had it cold and then hot. I preferred it cold for some inexplicable reason. But hot was good too.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience. And I am manning to order more dishes from her menu.

I haven’t posted in so long that I have probably forgot to written about my experiences. So here’s me trying to write about another pleasant experience at PAUL.pakistan.

4 of us ordered different deserts to try and sample off each other’s plates.

Starting off with the best off the lot their signature brownie. It can’t get any better it’s just perfect with a rich dark chocolate that you can taste in every bite. Ice cream that is served with it perfectly balances it for those who don’t like overpowering chocolate taste.

Dark chocolate tart is also consistently good.

Strawberry tart again, perfectly baked shell that isn’t either too hard to break or just crumbles with a touch of spoon. Custard was tasty with strong notes of vanilla. This is for those who don’t like overtly sweet desserts.

Cheesecake is strictly ok. I have had better. Probably they could use a little less salt in the cream cheese. Compote was good.

And the best of the best is reserved for last. Their mousse cake is fit for a royal treat. Light mousse with rich dark chocolate. You keep cutting another slice to have one last bite.

Overall it’s always a very pleasant experience at Paul.

One complaint that they’ve promised to look into is the coffee quality which is inconsistent. It’s either too watered down or just a perfect cuppa every alternate time.

A few months back, I was invited to appear on 92 News HD Plus morning show Subh Savaray Pakistan. We talked about soups and gajak and other winter delicacies.

I was invited to ARY news morning show Bakhabar Savera last year to talk about the fear of getting covid from Chinese food. Never got a chance to post it. So here it goes.

What is Eid without traditional desserts? And what’s better than one dessert? Two!!!! Presenting fry seviyan and sheer khurma.

Wishing you all a happy eid mubarak. Stay home and stay safe with your loved ones and pray for the Muslims suffering in Palestine and Kashmir.

Also do not forget to keep covid patients in your prayers for their speedy recovery.

This is one long pending review. Visited PAUL.pakistan in their first month of opening. Starting of with service, the staff was well versed with the menu and the floor manager was handling the rush professionally and kept apologising for the waiting. We got a table in 30 minutes.

Ordered stuffed mushrooms for appetiser which was a really nice start to the meal.

For main I ordered spiced chicken with rice while others ordered their chicken burger, steak sandwich, and Parmesan chicken.

I loved my dish. It was filling, and balanced with flavours. Others were happy with their meal too. Bread in the sandwich was a bit hard to chew but it’s something that can be fixed.

Pricing is very good 1 appetiser, 4 mains and 4 desserts along with coffee and soda coated us 1800 per person.

This is your regular cafe menu so comparison with a restaurant or a fine dine place is nonsense. I can’t wait to go again and try other things.

Desserts review next week.

With the lockdown SOPs, it’s advised to stay home and stay safe. Which means we should stay home and unlike before when we used to head out for iftar dinners, we should order in.

While browsing good groups, I stumbled on a iftar deal post by Angeethi which had a good combo. Bbq, makhni, iftarplayter, naan, yakhni pulao and their signature chutneys. All of this for 1250 rupees. Only catch, you have to order 10 boxes at least. So we decided to share iftar with our neighbours.

The whole process from ordering to paying as TTP delivery was smooth. They listened to my countless queries and answered very politely.

Everything in Thai box was top notch. But winner for me were kebabs and yakhni pulao. Makhni was excellent too but that yakhni pulao was light, fragrant and paired well with the kebabs.

If you are planning to send iftar to your friends and family, this is one of the best deals available these days.

I usually post reviews days after if not weeks after I have had them. But this review couldn’t wait. I along with the group of my friends have been regularly visiting Tacocat so when we saw their all you can eat tacos deal for ramzan we decided to go on the first weekend.

They have a limited seating due to outdoor dining but you can reserve a table on phone. We reached there on time and the owner (boss lady) greeted us and directed us to our table. Then she explained how the deal works. Basically, tacos are divided in three rounds and you have to tell in advance if you don’t want a particular taco. Also if you leave any taco, it will be charged separately because food shouldn’t be wasted. (But who’s going to waste a taco? Was my question).

Anyway after azan and breaking fast, they started serving tacos on each table (give or take 30 customers at a time). Needless to say all tacos were freshly prepared and assembled. (No guacamole or cheese included in this deal which is understandable because you have to make it viable.

They started with carne asada which had beef cooked to perfection. Next up we had grilled chicken. Then birria and then fried chicken.

Star of the evening for me was their mushroom taco which was light and refreshing. Maybe go easy on salsa with this one but that’s just my preference.

Best part of the evening was their welcoming approach to feedback. And the way both the owners handled the crowd. (There were people sitting in cars too because of limited dine out space and the duo along with the restaurant staff kept serving fresh food.

For roughly 1250 rupees per person you get a soft drink and unlimited tacos. I had 6. Some had 8-10. Which is excellent value for money.

I may or may not be going again for another round soon.

Texas Chicken Pakistan is becoming my favourite place for fried chicken and more. What sets them apart from their competitors is their consistency and well seasoned batter. The coating is crunchy, spicy and the meat is always cooked to perfection.

Tried it in islamabad as well and happy to report that the quality was same.

Hope they maintain their quality.

When you are travelling one of the main things that you miss is your morning cuppa. Visiting islamabad after 3 years I was clueless about the coffee scene there. Randomly picked up coffee from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Pakistan.

Now I stick to my black coffee so I ordered a medium americano. It was dark roast, aromatic and a perfect wake me up cup. What I liked the most about them was that I picked it up for 5 days in a row and it was consistently good. No change in aroma and taste which means they take good care of their equipment and know their job.

I hope they open up soon in karachi. We need some better options here.
