Humayun Memon (b. 1986) is a photographer / photo based artist and curator based in Karachi, Pakistan. He graduated in 2008 from the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture from the Communication Design Department. After a short stint working in advertising, Humayun has been photographing commercially at "18% Grey” one of Pakistan’s leading photo agencies for the past decade, while curating and
participating in a number of group shows locally in Pakistan and abroad. His editorial and photojournalism work has been featured in local and international publications such as National Geographic Magazine, Vogue India, Roads & Kingdoms, The Guardian, Express Tribune and Dawn to name a few. Humayun was an assistant curator for both, the first Karachi Biennale in 2017 (KB17) and for the Second International Public Art Festival Karachi in 2020 (IPAF 2020). He has participated in the Picture Berlin Artist Residency in Germany 2014, the Canvas Gallery / Pioneer Cement Residency in 2019 and more recently was selected to be a participant of the Photography Visitors program 2020 in Germany & Switzerland sponsored by the Goethe Institute. Apart from commercial photography and curation, Humayun has also served as a visiting faculty member at Habib University, Karachi University, Foundation Public School and Karachi Grammar School.
