Six years ago I really struggled with dissociation. I would just float through time, at best. That was the same year I started making self portraits as a part of my artistic practice.

It was life changing for me. I found myself in my own body and space, I felt so connected and so aware and it felt so right. It was never about striving for perfection or maintaining an ideal, it was just an exercise of light and play and documenting myself.

After so many years I’ve become so used to being my own subject. I find that I’m able to appreciate photography on a deeper and more intimate level when working with myself.
