Unikatowa kolekcja portretów CINEMATOGRAPHERS jest hołdem dla wybitnych artystów kina. Autorów zdjęć filmowych i głównych, obok reżysera, realizatorów filmu. To oni tworzą kompozycję obrazu, oświetlanie i decydują o prowadzeniu kamery. Bez nich nie byłoby kina, bo kino to obraz.
Wielki projekt artystyczny rozpocząłem w 1995 roku. To setki podróży, tysiące przebytych kilometrów, kilogramy sprzętu, a przede wszystkim godziny spotkań i rozmów. Do dnia dzisiejszego odbyłem spotkania z ponad 141 operatorami z 30 krajów na 4 kontynentach, artystami o światowej renomie, ludzi, którzy odcisnęli na filmie swoje piętno, wprowadzili nowe słownictwo i technikę zdjęciową do fabuły czy dokumentu. Ludzi wybitnie zdolnych.
The unique collection of CINEMATOGRAPHERS portraits is a tribute to outstanding cinema artists. They are the ones who create the image composition, lighting and decide on the direction of the camera. Without them, there would be no cinema, because cinema is an image.
I started this project in 1995. It's hundreds of journeys, thousands of kilometers traveled, kilograms of equipment, and above all, hours of meetings and conversations. I have had meetings with over 141 cinematographers from 30 countries on 4 continents, world-renowned artists, people who have left their mark on film, introduced new vocabulary and shooting techniques to feature films or documentaries.
