Found this video forwarded many times, where a local political leader is apparently scolding a government official for doing their work properly. Did a little bit of research and get to know that the incident happened in the place where I went many times with my parents as a kid, Tajpur sea beach, Digha, West Bengal.
This place used to be a natural habitat of a huge group of flora and fauna and has been struggling to survive for many years because of natural disasters and deforestation. Living abroad I saw the atrocities happened after “Amphan”, it was very difficult to comply with the fact that once my favorite place on earth has been destroyed and I couldn’t do anything about it.
Visited last year with my friends to cherish our old memories and walk barefoot on the beach like old times. Kudos to the forest department for their tremendous effort to restore the place.
But to my surprise I noticed that there has been a lot of shacks(probably illegal) on the beach this time, running as small beach restaurants. As there are no quality control or regulation implied over these shacks, they do not have any sanitization standards either. The serene beach has now become a picnic destination and stack of left over trash.

Once a beach used to be a natural habitat of sea creatures, has turned out to be a filthy graveyard for these beautiful creatures. Have seen co**se of two huge Olive Ridley turtles, lying on the beach.

Now, seeing the local political leader scolding government officials for properly doing their job in that area it’s absolutely clear to me why West Bengal has the lowest literacy rate growth in India in 2023-2024.
I am sharing this video and the image, to bring this matter into notice of CMO West Bengal, hoping someday someone will do something, to save the forest and the sea beach of Tajpur, my favorite place on earth. Mamata Banerjee

One Starry Night

It was a full moon in a small village in Poland.
Chilly winter, but clear sky and clouds on the horizon.
I was staying in that small house in the photo. Not sure what makes me go out in the cold with my camera. But I cannot complain after the result. My instinct never fail 👊🏽

Stockholm, January 2020

Another beautiful European city, this part of the world always amazes me with its architectural mastery. Old and new stays together side by side. Promoting tourism wherever there is a little bit of chance. The place in this photo is called “Gamla Stan”, the old town of Stockholm. An island surrounded by water body. I wish I would carry my tripod here.
