Here are some shots from the last time I was in Puerto Rico. It was cloudy much of the day but the sun made an attempt to peak through late in the afternoon, so we headed over to Playa Luquillo. It’s best known for the famous Luquillo Kioks but I was more in the mood to get some shots of a walk along the beach. The versatility of the 24-70GM II came in handy as it is great all around lens to capture scenes where you don’t know what or where exactly your subject might be.

If you look closely, in front of the dog there’s a branch that’s almost twice his size. Shortly after I took this picture, he picked it up in his mouth and ran with it. It was so big, he was having trouble balancing at first but figured it out and ran gingerly but successfully with it for a a few minutes. It was pretty comical, honestly. I don’t know how was happier, poochie or his human.

If there is a macaron half as good as the those made by Soree Kim from , I am all ears! As is the story with many during the Pandemic, Soree found a passion for baking. During that time, she managed to create unbelievably delicious Korean-Style Macarons. They are virtually the same as the traditional French macarons but have a considerably thicker filling. Each flavor is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and the cream filling has always been spot on.

Featured here is the Banana Milk Flavor which is a play on a popular Korean drink from Also featured is the nice seasonal treat, Pumpkin Pie. Soree rotates her options regularly and they are available for order through . Pretty plates used in this photo by and Backdrops from were also used to style the scene.
