Anna and I have so much more in common than just photography.
We are women, photographers, Brazilians, immigrants, and we both come from Minas Gerais, the land of pão de queijo. We grew up in neighboring cities, attended the same school, and despite all the different paths life took us on, we ended up meeting again here in Portugal.
And not just at any moment.
We found each other at a time when we were both beginning to build our dreams.
Some people would call it destiny. I prefer to think of it as connection.
Life has a curious way of bringing together people who vibrate on the same frequency. People who share similar dreams, the courage to start over, and the desire to build something greater than themselves.
This photoshoot was about much more than photographing a fellow photographer. It was about documenting a story that, in many ways, mirrors my own. Two women who crossed oceans in search of new opportunities and found in photography a way to tell stories, preserve memories, and connect with people.
After this day, I left with the feeling that many doors are about to open for both of us. Because when talent, dedication, and purpose come together, the universe has a way of responding.
