Located in the parish of Porto da Cruz, Engenhos do Norte was built in 1927 and is one of the main living testimonies to the island's historic sugar production. It was at this time that Madeira established itself as one of the world's most famous sugar producers, a product then known as “white gold.” Even today, sugarcane remains one of the most important crops for the island.

Located on the old road linking São Vicente and Seixal is one of the most iconic spots on the north coast of Madeira. We're talking about the emblematic Véu da Noiva waterfall, the result of a rapid retreat of the coastline due to a process of vertical erosion.

Not far from this emblematic site are the Natural Pools of Porto Moniz, which are volcanic in origin (formed over millennia through the cooling of lava). The natural shape of these pools makes it possible for the sea to constantly enter. The water is therefore considered to be of excellent quality, given its incessant renewal📸🌊🏊🏻‍♀️🏝️

The Madeira Botanical Garden has a rich history, with origins dating back to the 19th century. It is one of the most beautiful gardens in the region, with wonderful views over the city of Funchal, located in one of the city's most peculiar estates, Quinta do Bom Sucesso. This Quinta dates back to 1881 by the Reid family, who created the garden as their private park and today it is open to the public. The Madeira Botanical Garden is home to more than 2,000 exotic plants from all continents, some of which are endangered in their places of origin. Due to the increasing loss of biodiversity and habitats all over the world, this space also has a research and conservation area, with the mission of preserving endangered species. It's a beautiful and exciting place that deserves a visit when you're passing through the island of Madeira.

Sintra was, in the 19th century, one of the first cradles of romantic architecture in Europe. Its own climate and the consequent nature attracted the eyes of those who, sensitised by the landscape, dared to retouch it with a stunning architecture in an edenic harmony conducive to the contemplation of the beautiful and sublime.
Quinta da Regaleira is a place to feel. It's not enough to tell you about its memories, its landscape and its mysteries. You have to get to know it, contemplate the scenery of the gardens and buildings, admire the Palace, a true philosopher's mansion of alchemical inspiration, walk through the exotic park and feel its spirituality 🏰🌲⛲🌸💕📸

The Botanical Garden of Iasi, founded in 1856, is named after its founder, the physician and naturalist Anastasie Fătu. It is the first Romanian university botanical garden and at the same time the largest in the country, unique through the high number of plant species and the special conservation measures.
An interesting thing in the Botanical Garden is the section for the blind. Founded in 1991, this section reunites over 30 species whose main features are the strong perfume and certain leaf particularities, which offer blind people details on the plants through their simple touching. The section has labels written in Braille which offer the essential information regarding each exhibited species.📸🌳🌷🌲🏵️🍃🏞️

Every year, the extended pilgrimage in Iași, Romania, in honor of St. Paraskeva gathers thousands upon thousands of faithful pilgrims from throughout Romania and beyond.
The great piety of the righteous people towards Venerable Paraskeva is explained by the conviction and finding that she is “very useful,” as she is called in her Akathist. St. Paraskeva offers help through her prayers, to young and old, to virgins and mothers, to monasteries and families, to the sick and to the poor, gathering the clergy and the people in prayer and common confession, from Romania and other countries. Her power comes from her holiness and goodness, that is, from her love for God and for men.
The relics of St. Paraskeva have resided in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Constantinople, and she is greatly loved throughout the Balkans and the entire Orthodox world, but they have remained in the cathedral in Iași, working countless miracles, since 1641.📸⛪🖼️🙏🔔📿📜

The Palace of Culture dominates the historic centre of Iasi. The first steps of its construction took place at the beginning of the 20th century, so this charismatic building has been a landmark in the city's history ever since. During the First World War, still unfinished, it housed Russian and Romanian troops and some of its wings served as a military hospital. It was only inaugurated in 1925 by the King of Romania. Since then, many institutions have had their headquarters here: it has been a courthouse, a library, an art museum, a history museum, an ethnography museum and a science museum. It worth your visit 📸🏰🗽🖼️🎙️🎭🎟️

Today I bring you our famous Portuguese Venice😁 The Ria de Aveiro is made up of five urban canals in the city of Aveiro: the Central Canal, the Côjo Canal, the Pirâmides Canal and the São Roque and Santos Mártires canals . These are mainly used for tourism purposes, through trips on traditional boats, including the moliceiro. These boats used to transport moliço, a seaweed used to fertilize agricultural fields. These river trips, which last around 45 minutes, allow you to see some of the city's main points of interest and monuments.
The Ponte dos Laços de Amizade (Valentine's Bridge), also known as the Tie Bridge, is located at Cais do Cojo. The bridge has immense cultural significance for locals and visitors due to its symbolic representation of unity and cooperation. It has become usual for people visiting Aveiro to tie ribbons on the railings as a symbol of their friendships or relationships - thus giving a colorful and vibrant aura to this otherwise plain wooden bridge.

One of Northern Europe's cultural hotspots, Helsinki is a modern city with some of the most unique architecture in the world, both new and old. Helsinki is a great vacation spot for art enthusiasts and those who want a lively nightlife. It's also a great place to have family vacations. It is a sanctuary for outdoor lovers, surrounded by lakes, forests, and the ocean. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is the second northernmost capital in Europe and is home to more than half a million people. Helsinki epitomizes Finnish identity with its distinctive fusion of modern and traditional architectural forms and strong ties to open areas 📸🚤⛪🏞️🚲🍣🥂

Wooden houses, simple streets... everything evokes humility in this corner of Nordic Europe. Anyone who sees these countries today and their high level of social welfare can't imagine that until the beginning of the last century they were quite poor.

Porvoo, Finland's second oldest city, is still evidence of how this region used to be. The city dates back to 1347, with a cathedral still standing from the 15th century and wooden houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Relatively little, however, had changed by the beginning of the last century. Even today, this place offers a journey through history, a picturesque walk - albeit in the Nordic way, with its not always friendly climate and the quietness that characterizes this part of the world📸⛵🏡🎏⛅🍃

The Northern Lights are a stunning display of glowing, swirling lights in the night sky that have amazed humankind for thousands of years.

They occur around the North Pole when the solar wind carrying the particles interacts with the Earth’s magnetic field.

Different gases produce different colours when energised. The two most common gases in the Earth's atmosphere are nitrogen and oxygen. Oxygen atoms glow green and nitrogen atoms emit purple, blue and pink.

It is a show that must be seen at least once in a life time and it is magical when visiting the lapland 📸🌌🌒🤓
