I met Bia some years ago. She’s an actress, and our first photoshoot together was back in 2022. Since then, we’ve done two more sessions, and of course, we became friends along the way.

It’s not just about the photoshoot. The bond we created since that first time impacts our whole lives and processes, not just hers, but mine too.

To be honest, it’s so hard to keep going and choose to be an artist every day. But moments like this make it all worth it.

I don’t think I’ve ever truly shared who Dear Viola is. Funny, right? I named my book after her… but never told her story.

The truth is, before photography, there was writing. Long before I learned to tell stories through images, words were my way of making sense of the world.

Dear Viola was born somewhere between those words and the last ten years of photographing women—and, in the process, discovering myself too.

This story has never been easy to tell, so thank you for being here. 🤍

I think one of the layers that fulfills me most as a photographer is creating self-portraits.

Knowing how to be both behind and in front of the camera. Knowing how to look within myself and decide what I want to let overflow into the image.

It’s a process I always recommend to everyone. And why?

Seeing Viola finding other Violas will always feel like the most beautiful reminder that we are never truly alone.

That somehow, across all the “encontro” and “desencontro”, the closeness and the distance, we still end up recognizing pieces of ourselves in each other. We feel it all. The connection. The absence. The timing. The meaning hidden inside both the meeting and the missing.
