In the midst, yet apart…
A post about silence, depth, and what remains unseen.
This photo was taken by my mother.
I am somewhere in the middle. Among faces, words, movement.
But inside — a little apart.
Sometimes it feels like, to be “part of it,” you have to pretend.
You have to speak louder, laugh easier, be “in the know.”
But what if you’re not like that?
There are those who try — really try — to be more open.
They show up. They join in.
But the conversations feel strange.
And the laughter — it’s not theirs.
Inside, it’s different.
Silence, observation, sensitivity.
That doesn’t mean you’re alone.
It means you’re different.
Many people I know — even those who seem confident and relaxed — face this too.
They just… don’t talk about it.
They hide behind parties, noise, busyness.
Sometimes, I tried that too.
But it felt fake. And it didn’t feel like mine.
This post is for those who also feel differently.
Who don’t quite fit into the noise.
Who don’t always know what to say.
Who don’t want to “look right,” but want to be alive.
You’re not alone.
You’re not strange.
You are simply authentic.
