PRESENÇA SILENCIOSA

Foi um daqueles dias em que o tempo não se decidia.
A chuva vinha e ia, a luz mudava constantemente, as nuvens corriam à volta das montanhas. Nada era estável, nada previsível.

Lembro-me de estar ali, à espera… não de luz perfeita, mas de um momento que fizesse sentido.
E no meio de tudo isso, a igreja não mudava. Tranquila, firme, quase indiferente ao que se passava lá em cima.

Sem precisar de se destacar.
Sem precisar de competir.
Apenas ali.

QUIET PRESENCE

It was one of those days where the weather couldn’t decide.
Rain would come and go, light shifting all the time, clouds moving fast around the peaks. Nothing felt stable, nothing predictable.

I remember just standing there, waiting… not really for perfect light, but for a moment that felt right.
And in the middle of all that, the church didn’t change. Quiet, grounded, almost indifferent to everything happening above.

No need to stand out.
No need to compete.
Just there.

NO LIMITE

Às vezes, a escala é difícil de explicar.
Até vermos alguém ali… sentado a fotografar.

Um dos participantes do tour encontrou o seu lugar perto do limite e ficou ali algum tempo, concentrado na cena à sua frente. E foi nesse momento que tudo fez mais sentido — a altura, a profundidade, a força da queda de água.

Há coisas que uma fotografia sozinha não consegue transmitir.
Mas com um elemento humano, tudo se torna mais real.

São momentos assim que me lembram porque gosto tanto de guiar estes tours.
Não só pelos locais… mas pela forma como as pessoas os vivem.

EDGE

Sometimes, scale is hard to explain.
Until you see someone sitting there… photographing it.

One of the participants on the tour found his spot near the edge and just stayed there for a while, focused on the scene in front of him. And somehow, that’s when everything made more sense — the height, the depth, the sheer power of the waterfall.

It’s something a photo alone struggles to show.
But with a human element, it becomes real.

Moments like this remind me why I love guiding these trips.
Not just for the places… but for the way people experience them.

QUANDO A TERRA SE LEMBRA
[PT 🇵🇹]

Este ano choveu muito.
E as nossas paisagens mudaram com isso.
Os rios encheram, os campos f**aram verdes, tudo parece vivo outra vez. Mas, ainda assim, dei por mim a lembrar-me deste lugar… seco.

Estive aqui ao nascer do sol, depois de uma noite sem dormir a fotografar as estrelas.
O mesmo lugar.
Uma história completamente diferente.
O solo estava rachado, frágil, quase exausto — como se estivesse à espera de chuva que nunca chegava.

E no entanto, é a mesma terra.
Esse contraste f**a comigo.
A rapidez com que tudo muda… e o pouco controlo que temos sobre isso.

WHEN THE LAND REMEMBERS

This year, it rained a lot.
And our landscapes changed with it.
Rivers filled, fields turned green, everything feels alive again. But somehow, I kept thinking about this place… dry.

I was here at sunrise, after a night without sleep photographing the stars.
Same place.
A completely different story.
The ground was cracked, fragile, almost exhausted — like it had been waiting for rain that never came.

And yet, it’s the same land.
That contrast stays with me.
How quickly everything can change… and how little control we really have over it.

INDOMÁVEL

Lembro-me de estar ali, simplesmente a observar tudo a acontecer.
O oceano estava inquieto, sempre em movimento, a bater nas rochas com aquele som profundo que não se ouve — sente-se. E no meio de tudo, aquela rocha enorme permanecia ali, imóvel… como se já tivesse visto tudo antes.

A luz mudava a cada segundo. Num momento tudo parecia escuro e pesado, e no seguinte um raio de sol atravessava as nuvens e percorria o mar, dando vida à cena por um instante breve.

Não dura muito. Nunca dura.

Mas é isso que torna estes momentos especiais — não os controlamos, não os repetimos… apenas os vivemos.
E durante alguns segundos, nada mais importa.

UNTAMED

I remember standing there, just watching this scene unfold.
The ocean was restless, constantly moving, crashing against the rocks with that deep, heavy sound you don’t just hear — you feel it. And in the middle of it all, this massive rock stood there, unmoved… like it had seen it all before.

The light kept changing every second. One moment everything felt dark and heavy, and the next, a ray of sunlight would break through the clouds and sweep across the water, giving life to the whole scene for just a brief instant.

It didn’t last long. It never does.

But that’s what makes these moments special — you don’t control them, you don’t repeat them… you just get to witness them.
And for a few seconds, nothing else matters.

UMA ESTAÇÃO DE LUZ

Há fins de tarde que se tornam silenciosamente extraordinários.

O céu incendeia-se de cor enquanto o dia se despede, e o Palácio da Pena começa a brilhar no coração da floresta — envolto numa épica iluminação de Natal.

As colinas mergulham na sombra, o ar f**a imóvel, e por instantes o tempo parece suspenso.

Sem ruído. Sem pressa.
Apenas luz, cor e encanto.

Que este Natal traga serenidade e uma estação cheia de luz. ✨🎄

A SEASON OF LIGHT

Some evenings feel quietly extraordinary.

The sky burns with colour as the day fades, and Pena Palace begins to glow from within the forest — wrapped in an epic Christmas illumination.

The hills fall into shadow, the air feels still, and time seems to pause for a moment.

No noise. No rush.
Just light, colour, and a sense of wonder.

ONDE O TEMPO DESCANSA

Há lugares onde o tempo parece descansar, como se a própria paisagem estivesse a suster a respiração.

À medida que a luz se despede, o vale suaviza-se e as montanhas erguem-se com uma autoridade serena, as suas faces de pedra a absorver o último calor do dia. A igreja permanece solitária no prado — nem imponente, nem frágil — apenas presente, como sempre esteve.

As nuvens passam. As sombras movem-se. O mundo muda quase sem se notar.
Ainda assim, esta cena mantém-se firme, suspensa entre a terra e o céu, entre a fé humana e a permanência da natureza.

Nestes instantes, nada exige atenção.
Tudo convida à quietude.
E o silêncio instala-se, calmo e inteiro.

WHERE TIME RESTS

There are places where time seems to rest, as if the landscape itself is holding its breath.

As the light fades, the valley softens and the mountains rise with quiet authority, their stone faces catching the last warmth of the day. The church stands alone in the meadow — not imposing, not fragile — simply present, as it has always been.

Clouds drift. Shadows move. The world changes almost imperceptibly.
And yet, this scene remains grounded, balanced between earth and sky, between human faith and the permanence of nature.

In moments like this, nothing demands attention.
Everything invites stillness.
And silence settles in, gentle and complete.
