Há um mundo inteiro que vive na interseção entre o design e a arte. Nem sempre visível nestes dias que correm mais depressa do que as horas, mas essencial para pensarmos o papel do designer enquanto criativo, artista e conhecedor da matéria e do contexto.
Atraídos por esta narrativa, visitámos pela primeira vez a Bruxelas, uma plataforma para descobrir o melhor do collectible design da atualidade. Visitámos e fotografámos galerias e estúdios, participámos num programa rico de apresentações e talks e, à boleia, explorámos a cidade.
Percebemos que o verdadeiro collectible deve continuar a viver depois da compra: no arquivo da peça, na sua história contínua e na relação que estabelece com o comprador/colecionador. Percebemos que o collectible design não é sobre escassez; é sobre signif**ado.

There is an entire world that lives at the intersection of design and art. It is not always visible in these days that run faster than the hours, yet it remains essential for us to reflect on the role of the designer as a creative, an artist, and a master of both material and context.
Drawn by this narrative, we visited Brussels for the first time, a platform dedicated to discovering the very best of contemporary collectible design. We visited and photographed galleries and studios, took part in a rich program of presentations and talks, and, along the way, explored the city.
We realized that a true ‘collectible’ must continue to live long after the purchase: in the piece’s archive, in its ongoing history, and in the relationship it builds with the buyer/collector. We realized that collectible design is not about scarcity; it is about meaning.
