A very beautiful Moorish fountain in Sintra - Fonte Mourisca ⛲😍

🗿 Sintra has been a centre for cult worship for centures: the early Celts named it Mountain of the Moon after one of their gods. Locals say batteries drain in the area faster than elsewhere and light bulbs seem to pop with monotonous regularity. Some claim this is because of the angle of iron in the rocks, others that it is all part of the mystical powers that lurk in Sintra's hills and valleys 👻

It was my third visit to Sintra when I finally learned how to dress appropriately for the local weather. Checking weather forecast doesn't really makes sense because it can change several times during the day and you simply have to be prepared for any conditions but especially for chilly wind.

I wanted to visit Palace de Monserrate but the main road there was closed for cars and it seemed the only way to get there was to hire a rickshaw. Not sure how you can do this with a stroller, any tips welcome 😀

Sintra is probably one of the most popular day trip destinations when in Lisbon. In my opinion one day is definately not enough to explore everything it has to offer.

Over the years it has attracted the rich and famous, and inspired countless writers, including Lord Byron.

It was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1995 because "the cultural landscape of the Serra and the town of Sintra represents a pioneering approach to Romantic landscaping that had an outstanding influence on developments elsewhere is Europe".

The Haunted Bookshop dates back to the 18th century, but came under the current proprietor - Sarah Key's - ownership in 1994. She now runs her enterprise Sarah Key Books out of the cosy store, specialising in children's and illustrated books.

The owner before her ran the bookshop for 15 years and requested his bookshop's name stay the same.

Little is known about this building. It has performed many functions from student housing to its current state as a home of old books and has been privy to many unexplained spectral sightings.

The old owner reportedly saw the ghost of an old man in the basement during his tenure. 👻👻👻

📍This Bookshop is located in a hidden alleyway that is St Edwards Passage in Cambridge.

Happy Sunday! I would really love to be exploring North Wales again and stumble on this gorgeous church ❤️ I saw some people were half joking half complaining about having to spend holidays in the UK this year and I was a little surprise because there is so much to see! I endlessly love cities, towns, villages and countryside of this country 😍

I hope no more or any other storm in the UK so we can enjoy upcoming springtime 😊

Talking about spring, we've started spring cleaning! It's incredible how much stuff you can store in such a small flat, and I'm happy to donate/throw away many bags of things! I feel like we've only scratched the surface and there is more to get rid of 😁

A day trip to Norwich: how to spend 5 hours in the city

Norwich is one of the best-preserved cities in Britain. Being one of the five largest cities in Norman England, Norwich used to be a vast hinterland of East Anglian cloth producers. Before the Industrial Revolution Norwich was the second-richest city in the country after London. The famous mustard company, Colman’s originates in Norwich.

Baby Jackson and I were on a mission today to find some blooming trees in Notting Hill and I'm happy to report that it was a success (see my stories) 😁 We could have explored more but someone became very grumpy and we had to rush home. Happy Friday!
