yet today, we find ourselves using the blue pencil to comply with Instagram’s rules.

This image feels like the right moment to anticipate Mother’s Day in Portugal, celebrated tomorrow.

An intimate gesture, as old as humanity itself,
now preserved through a 19th-century photographic process.

And today, we also celebrate the .

Sintra reached its golden age in the 19th century.

Palaces rose through the mist,
the royal family spent long seasons here,
and the nobility followed.

With them came photography.

Some of the great photographers of the time
captured royal portraits and the landscapes of Sintra —
a place where light and atmosphere felt almost unreal.

Photography itself was new,
and even members of the royal family embraced it.

This ambrotype on glass, made using that same 19th-century process,
belongs to that world.

– Experiência Fotográfica Natural

Com a colaboração do FIVE Studio Sintra, no Dia da Primavera, a turma do 7.º F da EBS Alto dos Moinhos recebeu o 2.º B da EB Assafora, para uma atividade especial de boas-vindas à nova estação.
Esta iniciativa integrou-se no âmbito de uma festa que reúne todas as escolas do Agrupamento de Escolas Alto dos Moinhos, promovendo o convívio e a partilha entre alunos de diferentes níveis de ensino.

Aproveitando o brilho do sol e os pigmentos naturais das plantas desta época, os alunos, das duas turmas, exploraram a impressão fotográfica de forma criativa, dando vida a composições cheias de cor, luz e natureza.

Ontem inaugurou na casa do sal (Angra do Heroísmo) a exposição “Onde estavas em 2024?” — retratos em colódio húmido sobre alumínio das bandas que passaram pelo palco da Fatela Sónica em 2024.

Um trabalho especial que procura contar, em imagens, a história das almas que alinharam o cartaz da Fatela naquele ano.

E nunca é demais agradecer aos mentores deste festival e que tanto têm apoiado o nosso projeto e que continuam a divulgá-lo através desta exposição.

Yesterday the exhibition “Where Were You in 2024?” opened at Casa do Sal (Angra do Heroísmo) — wet plate collodion portraits on aluminum of the bands that performed on the Fatela Sónica stage in 2024.

A special project that tells, through images, the story of the souls who shaped the Fatela lineup that year.

We are also deeply grateful to the mentors of this festival and , who have continuously supported our project and are helping share it through this exhibition.
