Agave à col de cygne / Agave attenuata
(Fr)Les agaves sont des plantes que je trouve intéressant pour du noir et blanc :
1°) Déjà , il y a le bord jaunes des feuilles qui peuvent être gris clairs ou blanc grâce au filtre jaune ou orange qu'on aura mis sur l'objectif.
2°) Ensuite il y a les motifs tantôt vert clair, tantôt vert foncés sur les feuilles. Là aussi, le filtre peut apporter un petit plus en accentuant le contraste selon la densité du vert.
3°) Enfin la forme et la position concentrique des feuilles peuvent contribuer à l'aspect graphique de l'image.
Bien entendu, la lumière reste l'élément essentiel pour le rendu global. Pour la version que je vous propose, j'ai bénéficié d'une lumière diffuse avec le soleil déjà en dessous de l'horizon. Ce qui apporte des ombres en dégradées et donne sur le papier un rendu que je trouve agréable avec de belles nuances.
(En) Agaves are among the few plants I take the time to study, and see what I can achieve with them for a photograph. Indeed, agaves have several advantages for black and white photography:
1) There are the yellow edges of the leaves, which can appear light gray or white with a yellow or orange filter placed on the lens.
2) There are the patterns in light or dark green, on the leaves. Here too, the filter can add a little something extra by accentuating the contrast depending on the density of the green.
3) Finally, the shape and concentric arrangement of the leaves can add a graphic quality to the image.
Of course, light remains the essential element for the overall result. Here, I have got a diffused light, with the sun already below the horizon. This creates graduated shadows and gives the print a shade of gray that I like.
