To all the new faces on here looking for a little context to the steady stream of wildlife content, hopefully this helps:
I got my first âgigâ in the safari industry as an 18 year old intern back in 2012, I was fresh out of school and unsure what to do with my life, only that it should involve a camera somehow.
The role had no defined job description which meant I did everything from cleaning shower heads to trying to stop fully grown adults getting out of a Land Rover to take a photo with a pride of lions. Both equally character building, though only one of them comes with paperwork.
Having originally thought I wanted to be a sports photographer, the internship made me realise wildlife photography was far less predictable and therefore infinitely more rewarding. I decided at 18 this industry was the one for me and have never once looked back or regretted my decision.
Now in my 30's I design bespoke safaris, organise small, group photographic trips and sell fine art prints. This means I get to spend my time bouncing between places like Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Arctic, usually with a camera in hand and a slightly unhealthy obsession with the âright lightâ. The trips are unique, the days are long and the goal is always the same: to be in the right place, at the right time, without forcing the moment.
