I consider myself an adopted Londoner - even though I still have a very strong Italian accent, who loves to travel and is always looking for a good cup of coffee and brunch.

Autumn loading…. summer holidays have officially ended, time to get back to our routine, and for me that means resuming running in Richmond Park more regularly 💚 best way to start the day.

Fun activities we did when we stayed at Tudor Farmhouse | Boutique Hotel & 2AA Rosette Restaurant

Puzzlewood - walking through this enchanting ancient woodland is a magical experience for both adults and kids, especially if you are a movie enthusiast: scenes from Star Wats and Harry Potter, and more, were filmed here

Family days out with dogs we boarded the steam train for a scenic ride through the woodland, you can also plan to stop at the playgrounds along the way, and bring a picnic

The 10th anniversary menu at Luca showcases the dishes that have defined the restaurant over the years, only available until 5th September.

I can honestly say the taglierini of cornish lobster is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had in London, I could have easily had another serving. I had to fight my moody 8 year old over the Parmesan fries and that lemon tart 🤤

This was my first visit to Luca, and I can see why this restaurant is so much loved. It is a very special place.

A few days away from the hustle and bustle of London, out in the countryside: slowing down in a cute cottage at Tudor Farmhouse | Boutique Hotel & 2AA Rosette Restaurant. The cherry on top was sharing it not just with K, but with my friend Elena | London and her son too. 🌿

This boutique hotel, near the Forest of Dean, is the perfect escape, especially if you’ve got kids in tow. There are rescue chickens and Indian runner ducks roaming the grounds, which kept our kids endlessy entertained. Puzzlewood and a railway adventure are also not far away, and will share more on these.

The food was a highlight too, with the kitchen making great use of the cottage garden. We made the most of the sunny weather and ate every meal outside in the courtyard.

We only had a few hours in Paris, enough for the essential activities: grab an ice cream, buy pastries and a baguette to bring back to London, spot some cool street art (quite a few Smurfs), watch some kids jump into the canal from a bridge, and take some photos of course.

Paris is always a good idea.

A well spent Sunday with Elena | London and the kids:

- lunch at Osteria Locatelli at the National Gallery (pr invite) octopus salad to start with, and scialatelli pasta with provolone and courgettes. They don’t have a kids menu, but they were able to adapt one of the mains for K 🍝

- a visit to the National Gallery to admire some of my favourites: Canaletto and Van Gogh 🎨

- and I am never not stopping in Chinatown London for a bubble tea from Cuppacha Bubble Tea and to grab a custard bun (or two) from Mrs bakery包租婆

I can confirm that Bubala does know better after trying their new feasting menu at their Spitafield branch.
I would struggle to pick a favourite dish, as they were all so good.

So my top 3 (in no particular order): oyster mushroom skewer, confit potato latkes, and the halloumi.

🚝 I love travelling by train, and for our trip to Switzerland, I opted for this mode of transport, instead of getting a plane, and it was just a bit more expensive.

We recently spent a few days in Switzerland visiting relatives, and I wanted to share a very cool museum we visited: Museum für Musikautomaten (Musuem of Music Boxes) in Seewen.

My highlights from our visit;

🎼Hupfield Sinfonie-Jazz-Orchester
🎹Steinway & Sons reproducing grand piano
🛳️The Brittanic organ - a large self-playing orchestrion-style organ that came from RMS Brittanic, the sister ship of the Titanic
🎵The world’s largest travelling concert organ

With your ticket, a guided tour is also included and the guide will play the music box for the group. Fascinating

We loved our stay at the Francis Hotel Bath in Bath, it was K’s first time and he loved walking around admiring the architecture, and the hotel is only a few minutes away from the Royal Crescent, so we went there to watch the sunset and also the following morning, when we stumbled upon the Georgian Garden.
