Steffi Daydreamer

Steffi Daydreamer I enjoy discovering new corners in the city I live and travelling to new places.

An adopted Londoner - I love travelling with my family, discovering new places to eat in London (and beyond) and showcase the beauty London and the places I travel to. I consider myself an adopted Londoner - even though I still have a very strong Italian accent, who loves to travel and is always looking for a good cup of coffee and brunch.

A great way to spend a day in Muswell Hill, a neighbourhood I have not been to in realtà at too long;

🍴 lunch at (pr invite) family owned trattoria since 1960 (this is the newly opened second location), I devoured my pasta - mafaldine al ragù and K his pizza (the table next to us doubted his capacity to eat an adult pizza, I knew better). Loved the relaxed atmosphere and it is clearly already a favourite in the area. Plus there is a tiramisu trolley 😍
👖Shop at the many charity shops on the high street - not gonna lie, I am planning to back without K to do just that
📚 Buy a book (or two 😉) at , there is also an excellent children bookstore
🪾Walk off your lunch with a walk through Highgate Wood, there is also a great playground!

The joy of walking out and not having to bring a jacket.
The joy of being able to enjoy being outside, without a mosquito in sight.
The joy of a whole weekend ahead.
The joy of living in London, a few minutes away from Richmond.
The joy of being able to read a book, play Mario Kart with k, spend time with friends.

A piece of my ❤️ will always belong to Portobello Road, the second neighbourhood I lived in after moving to London, and where so much fun was had.

Obvs these photos were not taken the last few days 😅

We ate very well at - not surprised as this newly opened bistro in East London is from the team behind one of my favourites .

Loved all the starters: Oysters, fired bread with wild garlic, and smoked cods roe with crisp pig skin to start with.

Then asparagus with brown butter hollandaise sauce was also a favourite.

We shared the sirloin of Hereford beef and finished off with the panela cust**d t**d and strawberries. Then I rolled all the way back to South West London 🤣

What a treat!

Was it all a dream? My stay at definitely felt like one, and I found myself reminiscing of those special days spent in Grenada, especially now that the weather is so miserable in London.

I miss the sunshine, the warmth, the ocean 🌊 , the food and the amazing hospitality.

It is 2011 and I have just downloaded Instagram, and I can only post one single photo (no reels, no stories, no carousel), I couldn’t bring myself to use a square crop, oversaturate my photo or use a early bird filer - remember those? 🤣

Anyway, I can’t remember the last time I have shared a photo taken with my phone on my feed - but I saw this house today and it is too pretty not to post.

Also for those invested in shoegate, we found the shoe, under my bed hiding behind a few storage boxes… how? When the other one was taken off in the living room…?

If you have read till the end, happy weekend!

London moments and a couple of random questions
- Where has the sun gone? And why can’t we have one week of continuous good weather in this country?
- How has my son lost a shoe inside the house? We live in a small two bedroom flat, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find it…
- How is it May already? 😮

📍Isabella Plantation (inside Richmond Park) is looking glorious at the moment, glad I decided to go for a bike ride (instead of a run) this morning after dropping K off at school.

I have never been during the week, and loved how quiet it was. Can you hear the woodpecker?

I would recommend planning your visit soon if you want to experience this beauty.
