Julia Reinhart is a photojournalist who focuses on documenting protest cultures, social, and cultural issues. Her photos have been published in news outlets such as NBC Nightly News, CNN, the New York Times, the Guardian, The Economist, NPR.org, The Intercept, Der Spiegel, Le Figaro, La Republica, Rolling Stone, New York Magazine, Daily Mail UK, Yahoo News, Expressen, Jyllands Posten, Aftenposten,

and many more. Her story on homeless New Yorkers prepping for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy was widely featured in other media: By the Huffington Post in their HuffPo Live webTV segments, as well as articles in The Nation, Salon.com, the Guardian and others. Her work of covering Occupy Wall Street from 2011 – 2013 has won an exhibit at the Brecht Forum in New York. After 14 years in New York, she is now based in Gothenburg, Sweden documenting the growing rift between the left and right and ensuing street confrontations between anarchists and neo n***s. During the World Cup, she was reporting from Brazil. In her spare time Julia pursues photographs of a more artistic nature, a series of minimalist landscapes, portaits of street artists and performers, and other subjects. Julia is a member of the Swedish Photographers Association SFF, the Swedish Pressphotographers Club, and the National Press Photographers Association NPPA in the United States. She is a founding member of the Ooh Shoot Collective

Frozen Sea.

It is not often that the sea water in our archipelago freezes during the winter but we haven't had any time with above freezing temperatures since at least the middle of january. Last time we had the sea frozen this far out was in the winter 2009/2010. Then the ice was thick enough for motor bikes to ride on it. This year we're nowhere near that yet. But we will have at least another week of only below freezes temperatures. So let's see how far we get.
