Something happens to me in Florence.
I don’t usually think of myself as a street photographer. But here — the architecture, the light, the markets, the people who clearly care about how they look — I start seeing images everywhere. My photographic seeing comes alive.
Looking back at my frames from 2019 and comparing them to now, I can see how my eye has shifted. What I’m drawn to, how I frame things, what I let in.
Some of these will find their way into my upcoming fine art print series from Italy.
From one person who loves being alive — to another.

For this visit I shot on the X100VI paired with the X-Pro2 and the 18-55mm f2.8-4. I went back and forth on whether to bring the 35mm f1.4 instead — but the flexibility of being able to move between 18 and 55 won out. And honestly, in that kind of light, I wanted higher apertures anyway. Let the composition, the light and the colour do the work — not compression and shallow depth of field. Took these on Thursday 18th of June.

I took a walk through the cemetery yesterday.

The past few weeks have been challenging in some ways, so I brought a camera and went out to clear my head.

The weather couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. Wind, rain, sunshine, then rain again. Beautiful chaos.

For a while I’ve been catching glimpses of a flowering shrub from the tram window. Every time I passed it, I told myself I should go back and see it properly. Yesterday I finally did.

So there I was, wandering among flowers and old trees, trying to air out a few thoughts.

The ground was still wet from the rain, and for a moment it felt less like Gothenburg and more like walking through Tuscany on an early spring morning.

Do you have a place nearby that feels like it belongs somewhere else entirely?

Sourdough bread summary from lately, thank you for asking…

Recent months I have elaborated and learned to bake sourdough bread. I rarely ate bread last year and suddenly the kitchen turned into some kind of chemistry lab of flower testing. Many of the loaves turned out beautiful and tasty.

The last few days at Fujikina 2026 in Copenhagen were truly inspiring.
Inspiring to meet so many photographers, listen to seminars, and share good conversations over good beer. I usually take very few images in situations like this, but this time I felt unusually inspired to just walk around and photograph freely. Very fun to hangout with legends and and talk photography.
Here are a few frames I like in portrait format.

Adam and Cecilia married each other in beautiful Funäsdalen a few days ago. Here are a few moments. Amazingly authentic, genuine individuals. I wrote more extensive reflections about my impressions from these days. Maybe I should share those thoughts eventually.

Time to start sharing photos and stories here again. Probably more connected to thoughts behind. Or sometimes just letting the photos speak for themselves.

As the light is coming back after winter, my photographic inspiration slowly comes to life again. In these images I just want to find a balanced frame from an ordinary perspective. Understanding balance and beauty from apparently nothing special. A practice of revealing beauty rather than trying to create it. Accept rather than force.
