Throwback to summer when we had the great honour to have a family of long eared owls roosting in our garden... they managed to fledge three young owlets, sadly one perished to our neighbouring fox family before they could fly properly. But two chicks left our garden flying. And before they left managed to capture and ring one of the owlets! Giving me a great opportunity to get in close!

Finally! I set up my cameratrap at one of many approaching paths to see if i could capture a lynx walking straight down towards my camera. And after 6 months or so it finally happend! 💪 It's always hard trying to estimate where it might walk, and most of the time I'm slightly off by about as little as a few meters some times. Other times they just walk a completely different path. 🤷‍♂️ I've included some more behind the scenes pictures of me trying out the frame as myself as subject. I often find that I overestimate the size of the lynx and don't compose tight enough... but I do like to get the environment in the frame as much as I can. And when the lynx isnt triggering, other animals so. Like badgers, martens and deer 😄

A lynx walking by one of my cameratraps eariler this spring, this was a very colourful individual with lots of orange in its coat. I hope it will come back this fall 🤞
