Dune Creative is now closed for business!

I am not quitting art (I could never!), but over the past few years, I have grown weary of all the responsibilities that come with being a small business owner. So for the first time in many, many years I am going back to being a happy amateur instead of a miserable professional. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me over the years, and I invite you to come along on my new art journey. I am not entirely sure where I am going, but that's half the fun of a new adventure.

This page will remain up but inactive, and the same goes for Instagram. The Dune Creative website will be taken down shortly, but I am keeping the domain name, and it will eventually redirect to my new website.

Thank you so much again! I hope nothing more than to have you join me as I start to sail the seas of wonder!

I’ve been avoiding typing this up, because even though people who know me privately already know, posting it publicly somehow makes it more real… and I don’t want this to be real. Two weeks ago today my eternally beloved dog Cleo went peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge. To say that I am heartbroken does not even begin to describe how I feel. My dogs are my life and every time one of the dies, so does a piece of me..Darling Cleo, I’ll see you again one day. I love you so very, very much. Run free, my sweet, gentle girl. Go run with the wind. 💔

That magic moment when your color palette matches the sky. 😍

I’m finally getting back to creating art after a rather eventful (and unfortunately somewhat unproductive) 2024. It’s going to take me a few days to get my head in the game but I’m off to a good start! Well, at least as long as I’m not mesmerized by a gorgeous sunset… 😅

With everything being at a bit of a standstill due to the studio build I don’t have a whole lot to share… but here’s a recent pastel portrait of a very beloved cat. ♥️ It was ordered as a secret PhD dissertation present and I was feeling quite nervous as the reference photo had to be obtained in stealth. To top it off this was my first ever cat artwork so I was a little out of my depth. 😅 I’m told the recipient was delighted though! ♥️

I haven’t had much to share lately as we’ve been preparing for the construction of my art studio which finally starts tomorrow! 🥳 It’s going to be quite a while until it’s exactly the way I want it; there is just SO much to consider with everything from furniture to lighting. I’m prioritizing getting it done right rather than fast, but I hope I can begin to use it by the end of November (although I’ll have to be content with temporary lighting and furnishings). Obviously I’m tremendously excited about finally having a custom-built space to work in, so once I’m decently settled in I expect to be VERY productive. 🤩 However, until then not a whole lot will get done work-wise so if I’m unusually quiet even for me, this is the reason why.
