When you're on your way to listen to the police talk about criminal recruitment, but stumble into the more practical solution: parents joining forces.

​Back in August 2024, on my way to listen to a presentation by the police, I got talking to Katie and Roksana, founders of KiDs - the Swedish branch of the grassroots movement Smartphone Free Childhood.

​Hearing about their mission to protect the essence of childhood from digital risks was a longed for direction for many, and I felt an urge to contribute with my camera.

Here are a few shots of Katie and Roksana from our session; a serious matter driven by two full hearted people, just like pictured.

​Today, they continue the work under the name KiDs, navigating the digital world with the nuance it critically requires.

They focus on the protection factors that research shows are vital for children, while simultaneously tackling the pivotal differences in risk that excists in different volumes between:
• internet
• screens (TV/ ipads/ smartphones)
• social media
• ed tech
