Been seeing a lot of posts about Kazakhstan recently, including the trip made by SM Lee, and it got me thinking about the one we had 8 years ago, when the country was still relatively unheard of, travel photos in landscape format were still a thing and skinny jeans were the go-to bottoms. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Back to the point, it was an incredibly eye-opening adventure that left a very deep impression on us, even till today. A 5D trek + a wedding couple + so many wildly different landscapes packed into one trip.

Kazakhstan is big. Really big. What we covered was barely 1% of the country, and we still dream about going back one day. Maybe the next time, weโ€™ll see a little more of it!

J & H have such easygoing personalities and are just the kind of people you instantly vibe with. And for me, couples opening up and feeling comfortable around me is the secret in getting those candid shots that genuinely feel like them. ๐Ÿฅน

I started out doing the usual selection for this post but ended up selecting almost the entire album!! It took me reeeally long to narrow it down to these.

Thanks for the awesome time together (plus busy chasing monkeys away ๐Ÿคฃ). I'm sure we will have an absolute blast on the big day too!!

C & V's dinner reception at Alkaff Mansion kicked off with the most glowly sunset. Time was pretty tight but we sneaked in quite a bit of outdoor portraits around the lawn still! And, not to mention that their dining area which was transformed into a beautiful indoor garden by Ching | Wedding Florist and left many guests in awe.

The perk of having a smaller wedding also meant there was a little more leeway with the schedule. There was time to mingle with the guests, squeeze in some impromptu activities, and even sneak out for some sparklers shots. โœจ๏ธ

A common question I get is, "What should the wedding sequence be like?" My answer? There is no set sequence. Your wedding, you run it your way.

G & J's schedule turned out a little differently. The groom arrived earlier and kinda "fetched the bride" midway through her makeup session (see slide 2 for the impromptu moment!! It's so cute and I love it so much!) They didn't chase after any first look or super rigid timeline and I think it worked out so well for them. No fuss, no pressure. And it's precisely so that it was easy to get the raw side of them. ๐Ÿฅน

Their wedding was so cool that they actually didn't need a Spotify playlist! We had many talented guests taking turns on stage, dedicating songs to G & J. Everyone sang their hearts out and kinda turned the whole Chijmes Hall into a mini concert. โœจ๏ธ

This will be one of those sessions I'll remember for a long time.

A few months after photographing their family portraits, I found myself witnessing A & G's 10-year vow renewal at the hilltop chรขteau of 1-Flowerhill. It was a short session, yet a truly inspiring one for me.

Their vows were truly profound. In those five to ten minutes, you could literally feel the depth of their connection. Their love hadn't faded with time; it had only grown. Their words weren't the kind of sweet promises we often hear on a wedding day. They carried the weight of a decade shared - the responsibilities, the challenges, and the little everyday moments that quietly strengthen a marriage.

And here's one lesson I took away from them firsthand:

The goal was never a perfect WEDDING.
It was always a beautiful, lasting MARRIAGE.

Thanks, A & G, for showing me what love means.

Fun fact:
G never got to eat her slice of wedding cake 10 years ago. I guess this vow renewal finally made up for it. โค๏ธ

Had such a good time catching up with these two again since their pre-wedding shoot and hearing all the stories about the delivery. ๐Ÿคฃ Also, baby T was an absolute joy to photograph - just look at all the expressions!! ๐Ÿฅน

Dad's a huge Green Lantern fan, so that explains the mini lantern with the big one we used during their pre-wedding shoot. That's a cute little throwback!

It's been ๐ŸŒง these past two days and it reminded me of this intimate solemnisation of E & R.

It was a weekday evening, with just 20-odd of their closest family and friends gathered at to witness their official union. I remember it being a rainy day - something that would usually make me a little disappointed as a photographer, especially at a glasshouse venue where natural light plays such a huge role.

Yet, in a way, the humid air condensing on the glass windows added a dreamy, cosy atmosphere to the whole setting. It felt quiet, intimate, and exactly right for the occasion.

The coverage itself was short and sweet, but I got to witness some of the most sincere and heartfelt exchanges between the two, surrounded by the people who mattered most. Sometimes, the simplest celebrations leave the deepest impressions. โค๏ธ
