As kids grow up, parents often fear losing that close bond. 📉 SY felt that worry with Julienne & Kiara, but instead of holding on tightly, he trusted God and gave them the freedom to chase their own dreams. Now, they are truly having the time of their lives! ✨🙌🏻

Through the Lord’s perfect timing, photography entered the picture. 📸 It became the beautiful bridge that brought this father and his daughters even closer together, anchoring their hearts in a shared passion. 🎞️❤️

I always say: "I don't just sell cameras, I create memories." But all glory belongs to Jesus. The Lord did all the heavy lifting and heart-turning here, I am simply a grateful tool in His hands. 🔧🕊️

As the official media team for the Shin Zhong Taijiquan Association’s 40th Anniversary Gala at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, my brother James and I spent the evening capturing 40 years of martial arts dedication since 1986, me behind the lens for photos, and James freezing the energy on video. 📸📹

But the best moment happened away from the stage.I went down to wait for the Guest of Honour to arrive.

Soon, I was in the lift, casually chattering with the ultimate VIP lineup: Guest of Honour Mr Ang Mong Seng (former MP), President Mr Toh Cheng Hai, Vice President Mr Chua Ah Hock, and Chief Instructor Mr Timothy Kee.

Mid-chat, I did a "SAM" thing, I ignored my heavy camera, whipped out my phone, and suddenly raised it for a surprise wefie! 🤳💥

Caught completely off guard, Mr Ang Mong Seng chuckled and said: "Nowadays young people like to do this!"

Inside, I was like: Limpeh young? 🤨 Wait till you see my birth certificate and dad bod. But hey, if the GOH says I've still got it, who am I to argue? 😂🥂

It was the perfect, candid icebreaker for a historic milestone.

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out." 💔

After 26 years of pouring my heart into my dad's previous company (John 3:16 Photo Supplies), watching it crumble was devastating. Between skyrocketing rentals and smartphones taking over the camera market, we had to close. I felt totally useless, carrying the heavy weight that I had let my dad down after all those years of hard work.

In that pitch-black moment, I reached out to people I called my "brudders." The same people who always said "Mou Man Tai" (no problem). But when the storm hit, they vanished. I felt completely abandoned.

Then came Laurence. I barely knew him. He wasn't a lifelong friend; he was just a loyal customer who loved upgrading his gear at my shop. Yet, when I bared my soul and asked for help with a new venture, he didn't blink. He gave me the real, unbroken promise: "Mou Man Tai."👌🏻

It’s been 11 years since we started The Camera Garage, and Laurence is still here with me. He didn't just save a business; he saved my spirit.

Today, he’s picking up a brand-new camera. Paiseh, I can’t reveal the model because it hasn't officially launched yet! But as the American Express slogan goes: Membership has its privileges. 😉 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

When your grandpa drives a Rolls-Royce and asks you for car advice... what do you even say? 😅 That is the dilemma I am facing today with a dear friend.

My brother Djuanda, a longtime Leica shooter, wants a simple point-and-shoot camera for his 10 year old grandson. He asked for something "inexpensive" 🤣 I laughed and told him: when you shoot with Leica, EVERYTHING else is cheap!

But joke aside, I managed to find him a wonderful 10x optical zoom camera. 📷 Looking at it, it hit me: I have sold cameras to Djuanda, then to his children, and now to his grandchild. Three generations. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦How incredibly amazing is that?

I feel so deeply blessed to have Djuanda in my life. We may come from different walks of faith, but when we connect, we speak the exact same language... the language of LOVE.

Years ago, a gentleman was introduced to the shop who would forever change how I look at friendship.

Other stores sold the exact same camera gear for much cheaper, yet he chose to purchase from me. To make matters worse, he would pay more than my quoted price and flat-out refuse delivery, choosing to drive all the way down just to collect it in person. It sounded wild at the time. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Well, that customer turned out to become one of the truest friend and brudder of my life.... Michael Puhaindran.

Our story started way back during my days at John 3:16 Photo Supplies. Life gets busy, and we can go years without hanging out or even speaking. Yet, the moment he needs gear, he always comes right back to me. What did I ever do to deserve this level of unwavering loyalty? Absolutely nothing. It is a pure, humbling reflection of God’s grace and love.

Michael, I am so incredibly blessed to call you "Brudder" Thank you for always showing up for me. Cheers to you, Bro! 🥃🙏🏻

Dad,

Happy Father’s Day! I want to take this special day to say a massive THANK YOU for all the incredible sacrifices you made for our family. Looking back, I know we didn't have much money when I was young, but you worked tirelessly and did absolutely everything in your power to give Mabel and me the very best life possible. You never let us feel like we were lacking anything.

Out of everything you have provided, the absolute greatest gift you ever gave me was introducing me to Jesus and building that spiritual foundation in my life. Because of the love, faith, and grace you modeled, I always feel like God favors me just a little bit more than others, simply because He chose you to be my father.

My prayer for you is that God will continue to bless you with overflowing joy, deep happiness, daily provision, and good health. You are my biggest blessing, Dad. Love you more than words can say! ❤️

Most people call it a coincidence. I call it a divine appointment.🙏🏻😇

Bumping into Joe after 15+ years while helping at a photoshoot wasn’t an accident. It led straight to a blessing with today’s sale.

​I was opening up to him about how tough it is to compete on price with the big stores. Joe gave me the exact encouragement I needed: “Keep doing what you’re doing, giving people your honest advice and service. Those who support you will always value the service and the heart behind it.”💜

​It was a powerful reminder to just trust the Lord. He knows exactly who to send your way at exactly the right time. 🕊️🙌🏻
