Capturing a family from behind the lens is always a joyful experience, but this particular family was special. Meet the Gilpin-Jacksons: Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, Adelana Gilpin-Jackson, and their three beautiful kids.

One of our favourite moments of this photoshoot was when the parents kissed and all three of the kids screamed "YUCK" while closing their eyes at the same time...it's so interesting how romance changes when there are kids around, isn't it? Yet behind all the silliness, the demands for ice cream, and the complaints about how hot it was (and it was a scorcher) what we loved most about this family was the real, genuine love and laughter that they shared together during this shoot, love and laughter which we know resounds in their everyday lives. They worked together to create wonderful images with us...laughing and smiling all the way.

It was an honour to capture the Gilpin-Jackson crew in all of their beautiful, real, hilarious, hectic, loud, energetic family bliss. Thank you all for demonstrating a family's true love: love that conquers chaos and demands for ice cream. We are so grateful you chose to do your family photoshoot with us!

Behind every photo there is a story...that's part of what our team loves about photography so much. You're not just capturing a moment, but you're capturing all the smiles, the tears, the bursts of laughter, and the joy that led up to that moment.

Meet Foday Kanu and Wara Serry-Kamal. The moment we started their engagement shoot, we knew it would be different than any shoot we had done before...to start with, their chemistry was off the charts. We got to work with a couple who we didn't have to ask to smile or laugh, because it just came naturally to them. The mere fact that they were in each others' presence brought them the purest, unsurpassable joy that just burst through the camera lens with each image we captured.

Foday and Wara, we wish you all the best for the rest of your lives together, and we hope your joy will remain as contagious and infectious as it was this day. Congratulations.

It was such an honour to be on set with Nakai Takawira and the amazing cast and crew of the Gumboot Kids at the beautiful Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. We love how the sky just painted a picture of its own above this incredible historical site!
