JUST IN: The special court trying the suspended First Vice President and seven co-accused has ordered the exclusion of members of the public and the media from today’s session to protect witnesses.

The decision followed an application by the prosecution seeking witness protection. The defence team opposed the request, but the three-judge panel ruled that the proceedings would be held in camera.

The court further ordered that no names or identities of the witnesses be published in order to safeguard the witnesses and their family members.
