Yellow tufted honeyeater

Unique to the species is that sharp patch of yellow around the cheek area. This was a nice species to spot as chances weren’t high and it was coming to the end of the day. Very glad to have found it.

Yellow tufted honey eater

This was a hard one to spot. It had been sighted a s we came with no expectations. Nothing was seen until on the way back that i saw something jumping around the trees. It was what we set out to find, jumping around in thick forage. As it was quite rare to see, we waited and waited hoping for a clearing before it left.
There you have it, luck definitely on my side today

Superb fairy wren (male)

Definitely top 2 target for my Australia trip. I had the Pink robin as top target, but unfortunately it proved to be very elusive. This one, i was pretty chuffed to say that i spotted on my own (amazing knowing my bad eye sight).

Lovely bird, love it, just a shame that it was quite a distance away and the only brief encounter on that day.

Fairy wren (female)

One of my main targets birds for this trip. Unfortunately the Pink robin was not found, a lot more difficult than i thought. Nonetheless, walking along the river banks at a distance this female fairy wren was spotted.

Did i find the male? Wait and see

Red browed finch

Whilst walking in the forest i noticed something jumping around at the corner of my eye behind the bushes. Quietly and at a distance, made my way through and caught this beauty that posed nicely for me

Gang gang cockatoo

The male gang gang cockatoo is more colorful than the female with bright pinkish red patterns on the head. Gotta look good for the ladies id say

Gang gang cockatoo

Another cockatoo species we encountered on this trip. Gotta say my guide has amazing eyes and ears. Noticed a dozen or so perched high up a tree and did take dome time to be able and get a clear shot. This particular one a female

Galah

Another common species that showed once on the day. This one was close by the king parrot, foraging in the trees. Pale colors in comparison but nonetheless beautiful

Australian king parrot

Along the way, suddenly the guide stopped his car and told me to get out. Obviously had to be a nice sighting and im always ready for a shot. Close by was this Australian king parrot perched nicely for a photo. Even though common, this was our only encounter that day
