The documentary “Anything for a better future”

Synopsis

A 19-year-old Nepali student, earns a scholarship to study in Russia. But unprepared for the harsh realities, he soon finds himself swept into the Ukrainian war, fighting for the Russian army just months after his arrival. Driven by the hope of a better future, he documents his life on the front lines, capturing the war through the eyes of a foreign soldier, from a Russian perspective. This documentary follows his extraordinary two-year journey, exploring themes of resilience, identity, and the fight for survival.

Yesterday, we hosted the opening of the Bangkok Photographers Exhibition. Their works will be on display until mid-May.

Walking through the corridors of genocide prison S-21 Tual Sleng, I could feel the fear in the eyes staring back at me from the photos.
The Khmer Rouge's brutality took the lives of two million people, targeting anyone from intellectuals to folks wearing a watch or glasses.
Among the horrors, 18,000 were tortured here and died inside the S-21 prison.
Only a handful of survivors—just eight adults and four children—made it out alive.
Meeting Mr. Bou Meng, one of those survivors now 83 years old, was remarkable to me.
And so, my story begins, following the lives of students in Phnom Penh nowadays, 45 years later.
