We have long been fascinated by the elegance of mid-size executions of iconic designs. Among them, the Royal Oak — created by the legendary Gérald Genta — stands as one of the most beautiful and charismatic watches ever made. A true disruptor of its time, it reshaped the watchmaking landscape and established a new appreciation for the steel luxury sports watch.

At 36mm, the Ref. 14790 wears far larger than its dimensions suggest, thanks to the Royal Oak’s unique case architecture. In fact, it even wears larger than the 37.5mm Nautilus 3800. In many respects, the 14790 is considered the purest expression of a mid-size Royal Oak, both in design and commercial significance.

This example was produced in 1993, from the early D-series of the Second Generation — a transitional period that still carried traits of the First. It features the thin hands, case, and bracelet of the earliest executions; the hollow “ladder-style” clasp signed by Gay Frères; and the historically significant unsigned crown.

The highlight lies in its tropical dial, which has aged into a stunning burnt-brown tone, complemented by hour markers and an iridescent AP logo that shimmer beautifully under light — subtle details that elevate the dial into something undeniably unique and full of charm.

Traditionally, this conversation ends with the safe classic: white gold paired with a black dial—calm, composed, and universally elegant. But not today…

This is a Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18039 in white gold, fitted with a dial we believe originally left the factory in blue. Over time, however, something far more interesting happened. The passage of years has transformed that original tone into something deeper, richer, and unmistakably unique.

KE-7A Still Picture Camera & Elcan 50mm f/2

Developed under a U.S. military still-picture program, the KE-7A is not a civilian Leica story.
It is a special-specification camera produced by Leitz Canada, based on the M4 platform, and supplied under military procurement rather than commercial distribution.

Production numbers were extremely limited, and most surviving examples show clear signs of handling, storage wear, or parts replacement over time. The KE-7A was built as a tool — not as a collectible — which makes untouched examples exceptionally difficult to find today.

Paired with the correct Elcan 50mm f/2, a lens engineered by Ernst Leitz Canada with durability and optical consistency in mind, this set represents a rare intersection of military specification and Leica mechanical precision. Elcan lenses from this period are respected not only for their rendering, but for their uncompromising build quality.

What sets this particular example apart is its condition.

This camera and lens set remains in 99.99% like-new condition — a state almost never seen on KE-7A outfits.

One of the most beautiful-condition Summaron I’ve come across.
Often regarded as the younger sister of the legendary Leica 35/2 Summicron 8 Elements, this is the rare 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝟑𝟓/𝟐.𝟖 𝐋𝐓𝐌 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝟔 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬).

Design-wise, it’s almost a twin to the 8E — classic, compact, and unmistakably Leica.
In rendering, it carries the same dense yet gentle tonal gradation that collectors love from its older sibling.
What it gives up is just one stop of background separation at f/2, but what it gives back is a firmer, more confident sharpness — especially well-suited for 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙮, 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙙-𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 where contrast and character matter more than creamy bokeh.
