🎨🌏 The art world is shifting...

Following the European Commission’s recent decision to suspend all cultural cooperation with the U.S. and China, we may be witnessing the start of a major cultural rebalancing.

As Europe turns inward to "protect its interests," attention is shifting to Asia — especially Southeast Asia. Countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and South Korea are investing in cultural infrastructure, empowering artists and curators, and building new narratives rooted in identity, ecology, mythology, and post-colonial thought.

📌 Could this be the beginning of a new global art era?
📖 As reported in Il Giornale dell’Arte, May 2025.

👉 What do you think — is the center of the art world starting to move East?

In Memoriam: Koyo Kouoh (1967–2025)

The global art world mourns the untimely passing of Koyo Kouoh, the esteemed Cameroonian-Swiss curator and Executive Director of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA). Kouoh passed away on May 10, 2025, in Basel, Switzerland, at the age of 57, following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Renowned for her visionary leadership and commitment to representation in the arts, Kouoh was set to make history as the first African woman to curate the Venice Biennale, with the 61st edition planned for 2026. Her sudden loss leaves a significant void in global efforts toward inclusivity and equity in the arts.

Born in Douala, Cameroon and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Kouoh brought a deeply multicultural perspective to her work. She was the founder of RAW Material Company in Dakar, Senegal—an influential center for contemporary art, critical thinking, and social dialogue. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations of curators, artists, and thinkers across the world.

In a world where images rush by in a blur and meaning is often fleeting, the art of Sittiphon “Bomb” Lochaisong calls for stillness, breath, and introspection. His works, composed of countless raised dots, resemble cosmic constellations or encrypted codes—maps of emotions that speak the quiet language of the inner self. Rooted in repetition, rhythm, and reflection, Bomb’s technique blurs the line between painting and meditation. Each piece invites the viewer to not just see, but feel—to experience the subtle interplay of light, color, and time. In this interview, we explore the inspirations, challenges, and philosophies behind a practice that is as much about presence as it is about pigment.
